Works well. Great workout too!
I bought this 50-footer after failing to fix my kitchen clog with a 20-footer as well as a failed attempt by a plumber. The plumber had a handheld powered 25-ft device as well as an industrial 50-ft auger. hig 50-ft was too big to negotiate the turns and his smaller device seemed to coil up on itself. This arrived the next day and I gave it a try, but this time using the proper technique I learned from Youtube. That is, push the cable into the pipes only while rotating it. Release the locking screw, pull the device back 6 to 12 inches. Lock it. Start turning and push forward. I did this patiently for I guess all 50-ft so it was probably 70 to 90 times (I wasn't counting). In doing so, I could feel the resistance when turning at certain points, which I believe meant I was cleaning gunk. Some turning while going in and out during those times was also helpful. The cable turns yellow at the end so I stopped there and, using the same concept of "turn while pulling", I patiently brought the cable out.I did it completely manually, which was, for lack of a better description, a pretty decent upper body workout due to the awkward handle setup, weight and under-sink location. The result was a completely open drain that's working better than I ever expected.I think these are good things about the tool:- Cable not too thick and the head is not too big to navigate 1.5" pipe- Manual operation allowed me to "feel" the resistance so I could know where the focus attention. I think had I tried to attach a drill to the device I would not have been able to discern where the thicker gunk was.Bad- The handle is cheap and is not form-fitting. The knob that you use to rotate the body is also screwed down too tightly which introduced friction making you use more effort to turn it.- The locking mechanism is a screw. Other augers sold in the DIY stores have a flip nut -- much quicker to operate. This is important when you consider you might be locking and unlocking 50 to 100 times. It extends your upper body workout but it's marketed as something to clear clogs, not build biceps and forearms.- The drill bit seems to be plastic and given the weight of the device and the crazy cheap plastic handle I can imagine the bit breaking very easily. It would be a very unwieldly contraption when a drill is attached.Overall, I definitely recommend the product, however, because when used properly with the process I described above it delivered great results. I am assuming the cable is in fact 50-ft although I did not measure it. I recall someone posting something about their being shorter than advertised. I did not get that impression, but I was fearful prior to receiving it.Good product. Not perfect but worth the price.

Not Gonna Work and Here’s Why...
Don’t consider this a good option if you working on a real clog. This is the tinker tool of real plumbing and here’s why:First the line is too flexible for a large block. It will recoil and tangle and then kink when you are in a large pipe. This was because they wanted to jam 50 feet of flex line into a small drum.Second, the fed handle is cheap thin plastic that you cannot hold while the line spins. It’s like a 3/8 wide plastic handle, and has not support.Third, the round drill bit attachment is secured with a plastic snap on cover that will fall off the first time you attempt to untangle the mess of your feed line.Overall, this is useless snake on 1.5 or larger pipe because you cannot hand feed and push it into the blockage. It will either tangle, recoil, or become stuck in the pipe.Do yourself a favor and go rent a 50 foot electric 1/2 in snake at your local Orange store. It’s about $40 for 4 hours and will work on the first shot instead of playing with tangled plastic tinker tool that you wasted money on.Sent mine back after first attempt. This thing is crapola.

Worked Like a Charm!
Item worked as advertised. Directions for use are located on the back side of the paper mounted on top of the housing. Read them and you will not have a problem. Toss the paper as unimportant and you likely will. The 50-foot length is squeezed into the same size housing as the 25-foot model by using a narrower snake. This is necessary as a thicker snake would be impossible to get all the way down through the drain line for 50 feet. But the narrower gauge will want to kink on you IF you use a power drill and IF you don't keep the end with 4-5 inches of the drain entry. Go slow with the drill, or screw it by hand. Again, follow the instructions. Several other reviews of this item have been poor too bad because instructions were not followed. This item saved a $500 plumbers bill which I have paid twice before because I could not locate a 50-foot snake. This item saved me a bundle!

Long enough
Kitchen sink backing up, I used our 25ft snake to declog, and it worked for 2 weeks at a time. Turns out the upstairs shower would cause it to back up, and it was the clogged up hair that was responsible for drifting down the pipes and reclogging the kitchen sink periodically.I took the snake upstairs to declog the shower, but it wasn't long enough. Neither Lowe's nor home Depot had a longer one that wasn't electric and a huge machine that costed less than $250.Ordered this, and it came in 2 days and worked. But it wasn't easy, it's a manual snake so you need to use your bare hands to shove the thing into the drain for 50 ft, and once again shove it back into the drum once you're done. Very laborious but it works. And you can attach the drill to it to cause it to spin, sometimes it will go in further when you spin it when there's enough snake in the drain, the spinning reduces friction and the weight of the snake makes it go down.Overall good price, small size, those are great points. An auto feed mechanism is very easy to make and very cheap, it would've made this a 5 star, but it's only 4 because of that

Ok but not great
This product works ok. The bag that came with it to keep it in was not made very well. The first time I unzipped it the zipper broke. The drain cleaner itself seems to be made decent and works as advertised. Compared to other units this one is about the same.

No lo recomiendo
El artículo marca que es adaptable con taladro, al conectarlo te das cuenta que no es así pues no funciona de la manera esperada, el cable estaba separado de la base del taladro por lo cual no sirvió de nada

Saved me so much money.
In the past I paid over $900 to have a plumber come on short notice and unclog our kitchen drain. I vowed I would not pay that again if I didn't have to.Well years later and the same kitchen sink drain clogged again.I first tried a 25FT manual drain auger from Canadian Tire and it turned out the clog was more than 25FT in the pipe, so that was a big waste of money. After that, I went on Amazon and found this one for $75. Only reason why I chose this brand and model is due to the size (50FT), the drill attachment feature, and the fact that it was in stock.I thought it was kind of expensive at $75, but in the end it was still much cheaper than having to call a plumber. If you use this thing incorrectly though, you're going to cause yourself a lot of frustration and possibly hurt yourself. I know this because I originally was using it incorrectly and wasted 30+ minutes being frustrating that it wasn't working (it would often get stuck, probably at bends in the pipes). The trick is once you run into resistance while feeding the cable into the pipe, stop and then retract any excess cable back into the drum until you only have about 4-5 inches sticking out of the pipe. Now screw down the cable so no more can come out from the drum. Now with one hand on the drill and the other on the front handle, slowly turn on the drill while pushing the auger forward, trying to push that 4-5 inches of excess cable into the pipe.Once you get past the resistance and that 4-5 inches goes into the pipe, stop, unscrew and start feeding more cable into the pipe.Every time you hit resistance, stop and repeat the same steps.Once I realized how to use this thing properly, it went smoothly. You just have to go slow and steady. The way I was doing it originally (and stupidly) was trying to use one gloved hand to feed the cable into the pipe while pressing the trigger on the drill. This is a bad idea and an easy way to hurt yourself.Doing it this way, I found the cable would keep wanting to catch on my glove and if I hadn't been going slow with the drill speed, it would have easily ripped the glove/skin right off my hand.As for the life of this product, I have no idea as I only just got it. I washed it off outside the best I could, so I am hoping it doesn't start to rust immediately. Also hoping I don't have to use it again for a very very long time. But at least if I do, I know how to use it properly now.It feels good to have accomplished this on my own and of course the fact that I now do not need to call a plumber and waste nearly a $1000 again.Great product when used properly. Definitely recommend.

Awesome tool, saved a lot of $$$
I had my drain clogged for a couple of days and I found this tool, and what a great deal this is! Very easy to manipulate, I just put a drill at the back and in a matter of seconds I could hear the bubbles telling me the drain was unclogged. I paid a plumber hundreds of bucks in the past for that kind of job, so this tool has already paid itself! It's also very small so the auger doesn't take space at all in a garage. Definitely worth it!

Saved me from calling a plumber
All I can say, is that I used it with a drill, and SUCCESSFULLY unplugged the pipe. As soon as you feel a bit of tension, just use the drill for about a minute and repeat as needed.
