Audi/Vw 1.8t - works well
Affordable and it just works - like it should - installing the keepers on the 20 valve heads is always tight on the intake valves - patience and the tool really works -

Works well for late model sportbike valves, seems well built
I bought this kit to install valve springs on a Kawasaki ZX6R. The product worked great; the clamp and threads are robust. It compressed the springs with very little effort. The 19mm adapter worked great for this application. You do have to be a little careful to avoid marring the machined bucket bore and head surface, but I suppose that is par for the course. One tip: a wrap of electrical tape on the adapter and a rubber nub (or tape) on the bare screw end can help accidental bumps which could ding a machined part. This was my first time tackling the job so I can't compare to other products. I would have liked to see a "foot" or pad to snap on the threaded rod which presses against the valve side; might make it a bit more stable. Not a big deal though. I'm happy with the purchase.

Harley Milwaukee 8 valve spring tool.
I work at a Harley dealer and when confronted by the inability of the shop tool to get the job done I went searching on the web. I found a couple of super cheap tools that may have worked , however I'm familiar with the OTC brand as we've used their tools for years now. It was so easy. I was standing at the service counter when I ordered this with my phone. Prime delivered it the next day and the unit only sat on my lift for one day. So if you're using aftermarket valve springs and collars on your new M8 build you should consider this tool. Works better than the shops original tool.

Worked very well
I've seen some reviews that said the tool had bent open. I've used this tool it worked very well and effortlessly and it remained its shape. I suppose if you are cranking this down to compress the valve spring almost flat I could see it bending. But used properly it worked great

OTC Quality I remember
Have used valve spring compressors in the past, air operated but never a screw type. This worked great. OTC was a name I recognized from being in the repair industry. Always had great shop tools and special tools.I have bought several special tools from them for our shop maintenance. Still great quality and the prices aren’t cheap, but they’re not going to break the bank or require a second mortgage.

Good enough to get the job done
The tool gets the job done. I work on Toyota motors and in particular the 4AGE series. The tool could've been better designed as the side which makes contact with the valve is prone to marking the valve as it has no seat other than the screw thread itself. As with most general purpose tools they are not perfectly matched to the Toyota valves and heads. The result is that they tend to catch on the sides of the aluminum well into which the valves are inserted. However this is a very minor irritant and with a little coaxing the tool works fine - long term I will probably CNC my own adapter. This tool is pretty much indispensable if you are working on engine heads so worthy of 4 stars.

Good, sturdy, works well. Could do with a flat adapter to go on the foot.
I paid a little more for this one vs others to get a sturdy tool that will last a long time. After receiving it I am glad I did. Its a solid unit. My only complaint is that there should be some kind of flat adapter for the foot to go onto the face of the valve. It will be easy to make something up and thats what I'll do.

A well built quality tool
A good quality tool and the price is good, too.I used this to rebuild a Honda motorcycle head. It made the job go quick and easy.I would suggest this to anyone rebuilding heads for smaller engines. I can not speak to its effectiveness to do valve work on an engine such as a V-8, although I don't see why it wouldn't work for that size of head as well; I just haven't done it yet.It is well built and NOT made from hollow steel tubing like many of the other spring compressors available in the same price range. This is not a cheap tool that will bend when used. This one has a cast steel frame (like a large C-clamp).

Excellent tool I would buy it again if I needed an other one.
I bought it for rebuilding Volkswagen and Audi cylinder heads on the EA 888 engine Family meaning the second generation 2.0 turbo engine it would probably work fine with V6 and V8 with similar valve train design I did remove and reinstall all 16 valves and it worked excellent as if it was made for it the adapter supplied with the tool fitted the valve spring retainer perfectly the tool is not too big and balky it seems strong the C clamp looks like a forged part and it comes in a nice blow moulded plastic case i’m Very happy with my purchase.

Perfect for the job!
Great tool. Big adjustable frame with multiple narrow fittings to fit most all applications.

as always great otc quality
as always great otc quality. quite similar to the ones i've used at dealerships for years this unit is really nice because it's the screw type, some of the lever types tend to slip. large enough for lots of room, especially when your installing the valve keepers.
