Flexzilla Pro Air Hose Reusable Splicer, 3/8 in. - RP901375

Quickest, cleanest, and easiest air line repair ever. I was a little worried it may not work since I'm not running Flexzilla air line on my retractable reel but it worked first try without issues. Definitely need some muscle to get the hose over the barb fitting but once bottomed out the tapered ends thread on with ease. Very similar quality and feel to AN fittings if you're familiar with those. 10/10 would buy again.

To repair an air hose, you essentially have 3 options: 1. Use barbed fittings with hose clamps 2. Use barbed fittings with crimps 3. Use this Flexzilla splicer With hose clamps, the hose clamps themselves get in the way of pulling the hose around the shop, always catching on things, and they are especially irksome if you use a hose reel to store the hose. But the hose clamp approach is cheapest. With crimps, they don't snag on things, but the proper crimps and especially the crimping tools is alot of money. Also, you need to measure carefully the hose ID and OD to get the right crimps so you avoid leaks. With this Flexzilla splicer, the splicer itself is tapered so it doesn't catch on things. I used it on a 3/8" rubber 300 psi air hose whose OD was very close to 5/8" and it fit perfectly, with no leaks. It retracts into the hose reel without any problems. Some similar looking splicers have undersized ID's on the part fitting over the hose, so it actually won't go one some larger OD rubber hoses (unless you drill it out, possibly). I'm very happy with this splicer, and it can be re-used if I ever decide to replace the hose.

When installing it I had a hell of a time getting that hose around the bard but found heat from my heat gun made it manageable. Then you gotta get that tapered shroud on asap so the hose don't slip off the barb. Once it's threaded on I'm VERY confident it's never coming off or leaking. Just make sure the outer diameter of your hose isn't to small or the shroud won't keep the pressure on it and id imagine it'll fall off faster than you got it on. It being aluminum it's lighter than you'd think and there is no consurn on it rusting.

Not much to say about this product other than it works as it should. Good quality materials and fixed the air hose splice!

Great money saver, thought I would need a whole new hose for my old Craftsman hose reel with 30' PVC hose. 3/8" model repaired my PVC hose that sheared when trying to unreel it in very cold weather. Luckily the break in the hose was near the end as you can see in pic, because splice device will not reel back up inside hose reel, so I have couple feet of hose dangling outside reel. The hose outside diameter of course was larger than the usual 0.593" after inserting the splice 'barb', but the collar still slid over this area and I had no problem tightening it to the threads. TIP: Heat ends of hose (I used my heat gun, 30 seconds on low was fine) and the PVC hose becomes super soft and easily slips over barb, then grips tightly as material cools. I wouldn't use lubes of any kind, you don't want this thing slipping off barbs under high pressure!

It’s important that a hose repair doesn’t cause the hose to catch and get caught on sharp corners and edges. This repair connection is the ‘sleekest’ I have ever seen. It’s easy to install and prolongs the life of your expensive air lines. We’ll done Legacy!
