I bough this specifically for the beach to listen to music as it's water proof. We leave it in the chair cup holder or attach to the umbrella. We leave the phone inside the tote to keep away from sand. Unfortunately it is not as loud as I would like it to be. If the ocean is calm then music is loud, if there is strong wind then can't really hear the speaker.

Louder than expected
The speaker is small and the suction cup holds it well in the shower. There is a hook that comes with. Speaker was much louder than I expected. I do have trouble with the volume control. I've yet to figure out how to control the volume from speaker. Charge holds fine. So far so good. I think for the price, it's a good buy.
