InnoMax Genesis 500 Reduced Motion Waterbed Mattress, King

There are more waves than expected, This was an emergency purchase our waterbed started leaking 3 days before company was to arrive. I may have sent it back or questioned the fact that the box did not say waveless or Calf. King. Which I had thought i had ordered. it said 90% waveless. Maybe my last mattress may have been totally waveless. Other than that the mattress has been great it went in to our frame very easily & filled in no time at all. I've had a waterbed for the last 25 years & was starting to worry that i would not be able to replace the mattress when it went. For what I paid for the mattress it is doing its job. My husband said that there is a very plasticy smell to the mattress but I did not have an issue with it.

This is a Genesis 500. Genesis is an Innomax company. It is made in China. I see no defects, and got what I'd expected. The mattress diagram in the Amazon product description is correct on all but the 2 openings. There is only 1. No big deal, imo. It is, I think, a 20 mil thickness. The material is more pliable that the previous 2 mattress I've had (32 year period). The fiber is fairly thin in the out of box state. I did notice the lumbar area to be slightly more thick. When the bed is filled, I noticed the lumber section as being definitely more supportive. That is why I'd chosen this brand/model.

I will be updating this review after we sleep on it, but for now, I give it three stars, because It is advertised as a "90% waveless" mattress. Well the one I got (as I see other reviewers are stating) was very thin, with no noticeable baffles that I can see. We filled it up tonight, and it feels exactly like a free flow (no baffles) mattress when we lie on it. Every little move from either me or my wife sends us both rocking on the high seas for a minute or so. So I will say without even sleeping on it that this product was clearly misrepresented. We are long time waterbed owners (we actually have two) so when our mattress sprung a leak we couldn't find anywhere local to buy a mattress. My husband did the research and settled on this one. We have Amazon Prime and got it in the 2 days. My husband and son went to work emptying the old mattress and filled this one before I got home from work. We have slept on it now for close to a week and I can say it is great. Low motion when one of us gets out of bed, and from my perspective fits our frame better than the old one. Now my knees don't run into the wooden side in the night.

Well this is advertised as reduced motion but seems like a lot of motion to us. If you move in bed or turn on your side your partner moves also. We even have a 3 inch foam mattress topper. The pictures show a thicker baffle inside than it really seems to have. It was good for the money & better than my old leaking wb mattress but wish I'd bought one with thicker baffles. Use to be like 3 types of wb mattresses, Full Wave, Semi Waveless & Waveless. Think this is closer to Full wave than Semi waveless!

This has saved my back and has really changed my quality of sleep. Dont waste your money on all those BS high dollar mattresses that leave you sleeping in a ditch within your bed. I bought this with the other required accessories, liner and heater then built my own frame / platform and im telling it was one the best moves ive made. The only issue i have now is that i tend to sleep later. BTW its not wavy , you honestly wouldnt believe its a water bed buy how stable it is. Hope this review helps someone else.

Received "king" mattress and not Cal King (72x84). Also the mattress itself was 1/3 the thickness of "ASIN: B004KI6E08" that is listed here (and I in the end ordered that one). Amazon rectified the mistake so not a problem for me. I was disappointed in the thickness of the mattress but I didn't fill it or test it out so I can't speak to that. As far as the other product I purchased...yeah it cost a bit more but came with a fill\drain kit and a bottle of conditioner (and was about 96% waveless). nothing extra with this mattress, the mattress was blue and had a center opening (just 1) not two like the picture showed either, if that helps anyone.

I love this mattress! We had an old freeflow waterbed mattress for years that we had liked at first. But over time we began to dislike the way you would get sloshed around on a wave every time the other person moved. And we both began to have intermittent back pain. I was worried when we had first filled this mattress with water that it would not be "waveless" enough - but just as the instructions say, the bed becomes firmer over a period of about 5 days. Now it is comfy but firm and I am sleeping through the night most nights, which seems like a miracle!
