Schissandra berries
Exactly what I ordered

The only schisandra I will brew.
I've tried two brands of powdered Schisandra to try to save money, but they both clearly ground up the pits of the berries to make their supplement (the powder tastes like cyanogenic compounds- think peach pit flavor). This just tastes like fruit and is very invigorating; yes there is a slight tannic flavor and you should boil it for a good amount of time, but it is eight times worse with powder. Some sites recommend soaking the berries overnight to leach out the tannins, but I tasted the leach-water and it tastes less of tannins than the resulting boiled tea of the leached berries (which makes sense since these are berries and not acorns).

Frequent purchaser
I get the Frontier whole Schisandra Berries, 1lb. bag often for the Schisandra Berry lemonade that I keep on my counter all year around. Always great quality, consistent berries each time, and I'll keep buying them (unless they get much more expensive because we use it way too fast). But we love these berries!

Works and Tea instructions on bag !
I have ordered and tried both the capsules and Berries ( Tea ) myself. The capsules recommend Two twice daily. They do have a calming effect after building in your system but it (for me) was so mild that only by paying close attention could I tell a difference. The Tea is much quicker and you do notice even if you have had coffee. As to the taste I suppose the description of 5 flavor Herb could apply Floral, Sweet, Sour, Salty, Bitter.Imagine walking into the florist and being overwhelmed by all the fragrances all at once. Thats a pretty good description if you could drink that and then eat an old dry lime peel and all followed by a sip from a warm Margarita. I suggest using both for controlling anxiety.

Sulfate Warning.
You get a good amount of berries as it seems more than 16 oz. They appear to be of good quality but they are sulfate cured like many dried fruits. I could not use them as I am allergic. The front label in the picture reads in very small print that they contain sulfate but not in the supplement facts. I wish I had known this before I purchase them.
