I got a really bad cold or flu that swelled the flesh around my jaw and throat. So my throat really hurt AND it was really hard to swallow any liquid -- which we really need when we get a cold. These lozenges brought me good comfort by reducing the throat pain. I think that's called a numbing effect. The lozenges are quite strong and pricey, so I held the lozenge in my mouth until it was half gone, then spit it out into a clean glass cup to finish off a couple of hours later. Pleasant berry flavor. I have an old bottle of Chloraseptic throat spray, menthol flavor, that is also very strong to numb throat pain, and that DOES reduce coughing (during other colds when I'm trying to fall asleep). But it's difficult to get the spray onto the sore spot in the back of my throat and I can't find any more of this particular spray. I found the Cepacol throat lozenges more pleasant to use. I didn't have the usual cough that goes with a cold, so I can't comment on whether these lozenges will reduce coughing. One more comment, it made me feel a little better during this miserable cold, to have a full arsenal of medications to help me get through it. The Kaiser advice nurse introduced me to the Cepacol throat lozenges.

For every day use is fine. It kind of numbs your throat a little bit. But watch the ingredients, which may conflict with other health issues you have.

Good as advertised…

Cepacol. I had to begin ordering this product for a nearly chronic cough I have had since January 2020. My Physician suggested this after several medical visits in an attempt to discover why it had began. Within taking the second one aproximately two hours after my first lozenge, the persistent annoying cough had silenced. Two Physician's have not resolved this issue. However I was informed that I certainly must have been inhaling small amounts of CO for approximately two separate winter's past, due to a gas furnace, since repaired. I realize this may not be the cause of my cough and I'm certainly blessed to be alive! Still as this product has relieved the stress of having a chronic annoying cough, I continue to place reorders. The price is exceptional through Amazon prime for the relief I have received! The only downside here is the lozenge is not as thick as I prefer. But the relief I've received is more relevant. I have also noted that it has become difficult to receive them. As an Amazon prime customer this has disappointed me and am hoping they may find a different company. These have helped greatly when other cough lozenges have not.

My Naturapath NP told me about these cough drops. Only ones that numb your throat. Worked like a charm and the Berry flavors was great! Highly recommend!

This is the best medication stop cough. I bought it before.
