How much food is in each pouch? One meal for one person, or 5 meals that will go to waste, unless you invite neighbors?

I bought that Survival Food 3 years ago, and now that food is not edible. Recently I cooked some of the soups, and all tasted awful bitter, so I would not recommend it to buy or eat.

Can you open the bucket without effecting the pouches? Still 20 years?

Did not have a good experience with this product. Food did not taste very good.

Is the bucket resistant to rodents? Our storage area is in a place that can be vulnerable to rats.

I would think it would be extremely difficult for rodents to get through the bucket. No guarantees but I'd be highly surprised if anything smaller than a dog could get into it :)

How does the food actually taste? Is anybody actually trying it before storing it, or just hoping for the best?

Due to economic hardships a few years back, I and my family ended up living on this stuff. I was actually surprised that it tasted as good as it did. I figured that the company could get away with lousy food because either customers would never have an emergency that warranted eating it, or they would be so glad they had SOMETHING to eat no matter how awful. I can't speak to other food storage items, but because of my experience, Food for Health is the only line Patriot GSE carries
