London Couture: British Luxury 1923 - 1975

This book arrived rather fast. I love that it has also so much to read, and not only pictures to watch. The book gives a thorough overview about British couture and luxury history through years. Note: it is also a very heavy book, not the one you would put into your purse and take with you for a train ride (what I would love to do if it was smaller and lighter).

This is a good coffee table book although it isn’t so weighty that you cannot read it in any location. There is a good balance between illustration and the written word and, although I would have liked to see even more fashion plates, I don’t feel hard done by. There are some truly gorgeous outfits and gowns and a beautiful wedding dress from 1953. Well, there are lots of stunning outfits, that one just caught my eye in particular. If you have any interest in textiles and/or design, this is definitely a book to add to your collection.

Saw this in the V&A Museum but just couldn't afford the weight in my suitcase, so bought it online. Fabulous history of British fashion and the major players in it! Nice coffee table book. Arrived in cellophane and in perfect shape.

This is a 2.2kg weighty book and completely wonderful flip back to British luxury much has been lost in time- the perfect book for any fashion lover or blogger- divine.
