Jonathan Adler 28384 Muse Noir Scented Candle, Black

I bought this candle from Jonathan Adler but it didn’t ship in time for the present to be wrapped so I bought this one with prime shipping. I read a review that it was fake so I was worried. The original candle that I purchased happened to arrive in time so I was able to compare the two. They were exactly the same. They smelled exactly the same. They had the same box and they had the same wax. I ended up returning the candle from their website because it had leaked in the box. The Amazon one did too but not as bad. It’s probably best to buy these in store if you want to avoid that issue. The wax is very soft so melting/ sweating is going to happen but it’s not convenient when the wax is black. The pottery was beautiful and will make a nice bowl once you burn the entire candle. Good purchase and my friend loved it.

This makes a nice gift, smells great, and is a unique design. I would love to get one given to me.

candle is very cool and contemporary

I purchased one of these at the Jonathan Adler shop in NYC over a decade ago and fell madly in love with the scent. It’s intoxicating. The pottery still smells like it all these years later, though the candle has long burned away. Some commenters have suggested this is a fake product from Amazon and have mentioned the pottery being a smooth finish and the wrong fragrance. While I do think the fragrance has slightly changed, the pottery is IDENTICAL to the one I purchased 10 years ago and still use as a votive holder. It’s a smooth finish on the inside and a rougher unfinished surface outside. So, I do not think it’s a knockoff at all. It’s still a beautiful candle, and the pottery you’re left with after burning the candle makes a beautiful candle holder or a small “blossom bowl” to float a single large rose or dahlia in. Lots of people ask what it is and where I got it. The box and packaging is gorgeous and makes a beautiful and special gift!

I know nothing about candles but bought this because I liked the design of the porcelain container. It’s packaged in a nice box and smells really nice yet not overwhelming. My niece loved this birthday gift and thought it was “artsy.”
