It's like magic! Where's the rust gone?
The amount of time I have spent trying to derust things over the years. I'm kicking myself for not trying this earlier.Wire brushes, wire wool, wet and dry, scouring pads and elbow grease. I've used the Jenolite original rust remover, but that is highly corrosive, damaging to paint, and to users if you're not careful. I stopped because of the safety aspect. I had a bunch of fiddly small pieces I wanted to rescue, but was running short of the patience to do it the hard way. So finally put my hand in my pocket and got some of this stuff. You can see from the pictures that it's a collection of drill bits and screwdriver bits that got caught out in the rain without being dried off quickly enough, and some bicycle bits that had suffered. Due to long shifts I just just left them to soak for nearly 3 days. Nothing on the pack said I shouldn't, and it hasn't harmed anything. the paint on the bike skewer is fine.Anyway, the result was the 3rd picture. The rust is all gone. The carbon tool steel has darkened a little, but that may be due to an extended soak. The bright steel is still bright. They just needed to be dried with some kitchen towel, and if not quite good as new, certainly a lot better than when they started. All for about 15-20 minutes work from me, most of that was drying them off.It wont work forever, but is reusable. Whatever the active ingredient is, it's used up reacting with the rust. I bought a litre, as I only do small bits no and again. This should last a while and makes a tedious task near effortless. I can see restoring cheap or free tools in my future.

Best there is
For gently getting the rust of a set of train 3.5 inch bogies I could think of anything better. Immeresed for 24 hours and the wheels came up clean and undamaged. This is not cheap but, considering what it does, well worth the money.

Does the job, a bit pricey though
Bottle came in a resealable bag and there were drops inside the bag. When opening the bottle you can see why it had leaked, there is no seal on the bottle. The manufacturer should consider adding a removable seal to avoid this leaking. Thankfully it was a few drops so didn't really lose much product but still, things like these need to be sealed.I used this to get rid of bike chain rust. It does take 2 - 3 hours to do it's job.I poured this over the bike chain (since I don't want to take my bike apart and not be able to put it back together again properly), also drenched a standard yellow wiping cloth in this and then placed the clothed over the bike chain and cogs. Left it for a 2 -3 hours and came back to check. It had done a good job, but it would be nice if it got to work quicker. I did also use a metal wire brush to help remove the rust. For me it was going to be a long process anyway because I was then turning the chain to sort out the rust on the rest of it.Bike chain is mostly rust free now which is great, although a degreaser I used earlier also helped to loosen and remove some of the rust, to my surprise. If I had to, I would buy this again, just the price is high, but it does the job.

Non hazardous corrosion remover for non ferrous metals
Having used Jenolites ferrous corrosion removers before, I was interested to try this for chrome. it works but as it is non hazardous you need to use several coats or soak the part or leave a wetted cloth on the part. This will jot work with light chrome plating where the corrosion has started to lift the plating. For light surface corrosion it will help. As this is a non hazardous product, it isn't as harsh as the ferrous ones and hence not as effective, but follow the cases as described above (these came from Jenolite tech support by the way). Only 3 stars as it needs reapplication. Probably a little unfair, as my use case currently hasn't followed tech supports recommendations, plus time to attend to it. Buy and try is the only real way to assess this.

Brilliant product! Very Happy
This stuff is brilliant! Was apprehensive having not used this type of product before but it's well worth it.I have an 2006 e91 330d, which kept getting moisture in the connections for the rear lights, throwing up faults. I removed the clusters, but they're particularly difficult to get sand paper or a wire brush into to physically remove rust that had built up around the connectors.I filled a bowl and left the whole cluster submerged for about 8hrs, within half an hour small bubbles began to appear around the rusted areas. The liquid is completely odourless, so no nasty smells, and states it's non-toxic.After 8hrs I removed and gave a rinse with some cool water, then a quick spray over with WD40 and the connectors were completely free of rust. Reconnected to the car and working good as new!Best of all, I just poured the liquid back into the bottle and ive used a second time on the front light clusters.

Esperando resultados

Didn't work for me
I submerged a rusty axe head into a plastic container containing the product overnight, as the instructions said, but I could discern no difference afterward. There didn't appear to be any chemical reaction of any kind. So if it's doing something, it's rather weak, and certainly not enough to remove rust from larger tools. Maybe it would work for light rust on screwdriver bits?
