Virgil's Natural Micro Brewed Rootbeer Soda, 12 Ounce - 24 per case.

Virgil's root beer is a natural, good tasting alternative to nationally sold brands that contain phosphoric acid, sodium benzoate and other preservatives and artificial flavors and high fructose corn syrup. Drinking chemically preserved drinks and those with high fructose corn syrup, caused my kidney function to drop from 1 to 3 in blood tests (the test levels range from 1 to 6 with 6 requiring dialysis). After shunning artificially preserved and flavored drinks for 6 months, my kidney function returned to a 1, which is normal.At first, the Virgil's taste seems a little different, but that was the result of drinking artificially flavored root bear. After the first few sodas, I think it is the best tasting root beer, ever. The flavor stands up well with ice. It is worth a try, especially if you are concerned for your health. Of course, too much sugar is bad too, but if your have to drink soda, I recommend those without preservatives, artificial colors and flavorings, and especially those without high fructose corn syrup (very bad for your health).

Packaging for these drinks was done with care. They even slapped a 'fragile' label on the box. Only bad thing was the state of the box when it arrived, if they weren't packaged well, they would have been broken.I love Virgal's soda, but for the price, I will have to enjoy from time to time. I wonder why beer glass bottles are cheaper than sodas glass bottles.

To start with, the root and bark of the Sassafras tree are no longer used, as they cause cancer and liver damage. The Sarsaparilla vine used to be used, but nowadays, most root beers use an artificial sarsaparilla flavor. Virgil's is naturally brewed from Sweet Birch, and a lot of other natural flavors. The licorice does not improve it, it contains too much sugar, and it is packaged in a breakable glass bottle. Processed food makers in general use far too much sugar and salt than is good for us. Virgil's RootBeer is natural and definitely different, but as a root beer, I can only give it three and a half Amazon stars, rounded off to four stars, as Amazon requires ratings to be in whole numbers.The Nutrition Facts, and Ingredients, as listed on the bottle:Nutrition Facts:Serving size: 12 oz.
