Perfect Loose Tea Maker
E**A
Easy to use, easy to clean, the best way to make two mugs of tea at a time
This convenient tea maker is essentially like a very large mug: drop the loose leaf tea into it, pour boiling water, close the lid and let steep, and then simply sit it on top of a mug: this opens a valve at the bottom and the tea will pour right into the mug. Lift it, and the pouring stops. The tea maker comes with a coaster to catch the unavoidable occasional rogue drop.Unlike other models I've seen, this maker features a mesh filter at the bottom, so you can use any sort of tea without having to deal with chunks in your cup. The filter holder is very easy to remove, and everything just rinses under the tap.It works wonderfully, the only warning I would make is to be very careful when filling up a mug: the base is not see-through and the tea only pours when it's resting on the mug, so you can't see how full the mug is. It's easy enough to lift every once in a while to check how full the mug is, but don't forget to do it. Alternatively, you can fill up your mug with boiling water first, then pour the water from the mug into the tea maker; this way you can make sure that you have exactly one mugful worth of tea and you won't overfill. This is a convenient, well made product that works very well. It's easy to clean and perfect to make two mugs of tea at a time. I use it daily in the office and my coworkers love it too! Recommended.Sample provided for review

Not quite perfect but close
This Brewer works great. I put 2 tsp of loose tea in and fill it with hot water almost to the name on the pot, then after steeping I dispense the whole thing into my insulated beverage glass. I would prefer to drink out of a cup but since the teapot is plastic it doesn't hold the heat at all, which is my only complaint. It filters the loose tea well and only drips a slight bit from the bottom, so the provided plastic "coaster " keeps the counter clean. All in all it brews a great cup of tea and the price is right. I just wish it was more insulated.

Trust the critical reviews, they know what they're talking about.
I've always liked tea in a semi... we're just kind of friends way. But after deciding to rid myself of things like soda, I decided I wanted an alternative that would promote me getting more liquids into my diet. So I promptly purchased several different kinds of tea and made each of them using this tea maker. Initially, it was a fantastic product! Like others, the strainer would not come out for me and it felt like any more force would break the plastic piece connected to it. So I accepted it for the week or so I had it. I'd rinse it out really well after each tea making sessions and do a deeper wash between changing teas. However one day while making tea, the strainer just released itself. I burned my hand real nice trying to catch the leaking (boiling) water that threatened to spill all over the family members who were in the kitchen with me. The strainer from that point would not lock into place and making tea with it meant leaking and leaves everywhere =(.I've since returned this product and have purchased the Friendly Swede tea infusers which works really well for bigger leaf teas. Since I primarily drink Guayusa (Runa brand has tiny leaves) though, I've gone ahead and ordered the Teaze Maker to see how it compares with this one.

This tea strainer works well for its intended purpose. ...
This tea strainer works well for its intended purpose. It is difficult to clean and small pieces of loose leaf tea do get stuck in the bottom part, so I have to use a toothpick to get them out since I use many different flavors of tea and don't want any bits of the previous flavor left behind.

Junk - Leaks like a sieve right out of the box. Returning it.
I've owned a few different band of this style of tea infuser, none if which is perfect, but good enough that I still use them. The major appeal for me is that this type is so easy and clean to use. I thought that I'd give this brand a try, especially with such an attractive price. We'll after a day of use I'll be returning mine - the thing leaks like a sieve. After years of use the other brands that I've owned begin to leak a little, but this brand leaks A LOT right out of the box. I guess I'll be going back to my old brand - at least it lasts a few years before it begins to leak. Even only half-filled it leaks profusely and tea stains leaking all over my kitchen surfaces is unacceptable. Other things I disliked about this product are that it IS NOT DISHS WASHER SAFE and it quite tall with a narrow base. I nearly toppled it over a couple of times.

Sturdy, efficient and convenient tea maker/dispenser
I have only used this tea maker a few times since I bought it, but it has been a treat thus far. It is super easy to use (and sort of fun). The container is rigid and doesn't feel flimsy or cheap. The handle is affixed to the contain well so you don't have to worry about it breaking off. The mechanism on the bottom that dispenses the tea seems to be well made considering what it does. The filter in the bottom that keeps the tea leaves from being dispensed into your mug is very efficient. I haven't been able to find a way to remove it for cleaning and the directions that come with the maker don't have any guidance on removal. Clean-up is a snap, as long as you do it within a few minutes of dispensing your tea. I've simply rinsed it out with warm water and all the tea leaf remnants disappear.Overall, my short experience with this item has been very positive. If I encounter any issues or find new ways to praise the item, I will update my review.

Should be 4.5 stars. This item works REALLY well
This works REALLY well. Instead of the tea sitting in a mesh ball, it steeps with plenty of water to flow around it. It really does make your tea taste better. enough for two large cups of tea, and the mechanism that controls the flow of tea out of the container works well also. push it on top of the cup, tea flows, lift, tea stops. My only complaint is that the tiny flakes of tea (or spices) can sometimes get caught in the crevices and are difficult to wash out. would really only warrant losing half a star, but rating system doesn't allow for halves.
