Thoughtful, practical advice for any Home Educator
This is a wonderful book about home educating! Whether you think your kids are especially gifted or not, definitely add this to your “must read” list. Cindy thoughtfully explaines so many facets of homeschooling, from different methods (Classival, Charlotte Mason, etc) to different learning styles. She offers clear, practical advice and even includes resource suggestions for different subjects. I read this cover to cover in a few days and know that it will be one of my go-to homeschool reference books for years to come.

Questions Answered and Worries Gently Calmed
I adore the practical. I also like nuggets of homeschool helps. I lean heavy into the wisdom of veteran homeschool parents and trusted and like-minded friends. Y’all, author Cindy West is a mix of all of those things for me. And she shares her knowledge with all of us in this book. There are highlighted sections throughout her book, including ‘homeschool hint’, ‘homeschool toolbox’ and ‘real-life example’. So, if all you have time for in a day is a quick glance then you have gleaned something positive for yourself and your children. Tips, examples, questions answered and worries gently calmed. SO much encouragement and homeschool joy in these pages! Homeschooling Gifted Kids will be your go-to and HOW-to resource. I carried it all over with me today while we went to lessons, ran errands and homeschooled on the go and kept reaching for it. This book opened my eyes to the needs of my gifted children. You NEED a copy!

4 amazing chapters
This was a quick read. Lots of great resources in the form of books, websites, organizations etc. within various subjects to find opportunities for students who excel in a particular area. Four of the chapters had particularly good information many of the other chapters were to general in my opinion for a book I bought for this specific subject. Almost every homeschool book defines homeschooling, styles etc. so while these general sections were concise, thorough and well done--I cannot imagine most people who read this book wouldn't already have read more general homeschooling books or resources and didn't already have a grasp on this information. I would have preferred much more info about asynchrony or twice exceptional challenges both of which were mostly mentioned in passing by saying to paraphrase you can individualize curriculum to both their strengths and weaknesses. My child is 6 I'd say this book probably would be most valuable resource for 3rd-6th grade chronological school age group children. I have a very bright 6 year old but obviously that young there is not a lot of independence in projects and work that would require organizational skills of a child who would typically be older. Also I was a child who was homeschooled 4th-8th grade I didn't find the sections on highschool or college options anything particularly in-depth as far as dual enrollment, mentors, job skills, studying abroad etc. Socialization and FAQ chapters were okay but felt more like blog post subjects than in necessary additional stand alone chapters within a book in this niche.

Lots of practical application! Loved it!
This book is unlike any homeschool book I’ve read. There is so much practical implication for your children. It’s really helped me with my son who is in 7th grade. He is great at math but struggles to sit and work through numerous problems. This book offered practical suggestions and now my son whizzes through his math. I would recommend this book for any mom who has a child that’s gifted. And I would say any homeschooling mom looking for some help in their journey would benefit from this book.

Do your kids and yourself a favor
Step up your homeschooling game. Great to see another perspective when it comes to educating your kids at home especially when gifted children that learn at accelerated rates can become very difficult to keep up with.

Easy to read.
This is a great book. It’s easy to read and full of examples. I am not new to homeschooling so much of it was a review. It’s a great guide for getting started or finding yourself stuck or confused.

Not neutral
This book had some good moments. Unfortunately (for me at least) many of the resources were christian. I dont mind the idea of suggestions (of all types) being offered, but having to wade through to try and find which ones i could maybe use as a secular homeschooler really affected my use and opinion of this as the resource i wanted it to be. I would have prefered a more comprehensive list to help all types of homeschoolers and for them to be organized, and clearly labeled. Honestly i would not have bought this if it was made clear. I have to go back and read the description bc i dont think i saw this to be *not* secular anywhere
