Yes the compartment is very stiff but easily opened with a small lever (screwdriver, scissors etc) so I don't know why people are sending it back just for that. I am glad it's very hard to open as it means it won't come undone on its own and obviously medical staff will be able to open it as they have tools with them.The piece of paper wouldn't fit back inside after I'd stuck clear tape on it to waterproof it. So what I did after a bit of experimenting was to take a white sticky label and trim the edges a little. Then fold it (while still on the backing strip) to mark the halfway line - this is because I was using a water proof black pen which bled through to the other side if I wrote on the label pre folded and stuck down.So I wrote my medical info on one half (tip: just put your main condition then NHS number rather than trying to squeeze additional info) and my emergency contact info on the other half. I then peeled the sticky label off and stuck the two sides together and enclosed it in a piece of clear duct tape to waterproof it and it fits perfectly.I am really happy with this item. I don't like the other medical alert bracelets which have your condition or other personal info engraved or printed on the front and I dislike engraving as you can't update the info, so this is ideal.I got the 19cm black bracelet and it has some wiggle room on my wrist, I have small wrists and can't see how it would fit on a man's wrist so do measure your wrist first. I just used a bit of string then held it against a ruler.Now I feel confident I can go out and the little niggles I have in the back of my mind about what would happen if I got in an accident won't be there any more.

Found opening the id part a bit hard to open.

This has sharp edges so snags clothes, and can cause small cuts if you catch yourself on them.Looks good but sharp edges makes it hard to wear all the time

This was bought for an 82 year old who wanted her medical information on her person there is quite a bit of information that needed to be included so we wanted one that you could open and put in a piece of paper. I did not use the stickers that came with it, instead just wrote very small on a slip of paper and folded it inside the bracelet. Sturdy and stylish. I would recommend.

Quick delivery on a simple yet very attractive stainless steel medi alert bracelet. I bought the 18cm and it is comfortably loose on my 18cm wrist I have no doubt the 17cm would fit but I like a looser bracelet. The links are very comfortable and there is no chance of any nipping. It did come with a blank insert but I have just typed up the necessary details in 9pt, printed it out, cut in into a thin strip, covered it in sticky-back plastic and folded it into the space. Can't speak for the water resistance but my amateur "laminating" should suffice if it's not water resistant. Happy Customer.

Does the job ok but a little wider locket compartment for the information slip would be better
