Good buy
Thickness is consistent. I've wired motors, recently built a powerful solenoid.

Great value!
I do wire weaving and this wire wraps perfectly and comes in a very large roll so I’m able to do loads of projects! 28 gage is the wire I use the most as the wrapping wire uses the most wire. I’ve rarely had problems with breakage, only when I unwrap a portion I’m not happy with and I straighten it too many times. Otherwise it works up beautifully. I’ll definitely buy this wire again!

Let me just say upfront—this stuff does exactly what it says on the tin.
BNTECHGO 28 AWG Magnet Wire – Real World Review Let me just say upfront—this stuff does exactly what it says on the tin. Whether you're rebuilding a small transformer, doing some inductor coil winding, or prototyping something techy in the garage (like I usually find myself doing on Sundays), BNTECHGO's 28 AWG enameled copper wire is solid. I’ve gone through a few spools of magnet wire in the past—some cheaper ones that flake or have inconsistent coating—but this spool? Clean wind, flexible, and the enamel is exactly the right kind of tough. It doesn’t crack on bends but also strips cleanly with a light scrape or a quick burn if you're old-school like me. Specs-wise, the 0.0122" diameter is spot on, and you get a full pound of wire—which, if you’ve ever done winding, you know goes further than you’d expect. It fits tight in smaller applications, like PCB coils or compact motor windings, and doesn’t overheat under sustained load. I ran a quick DC test at 12v/2A with a custom wound coil and didn’t even feel a rise in surface temp. The 155°C thermal rating isn’t just marketing fluff—it handled repeated cycles without any breakdown or gunking up my work area. It's definitely not the brittle junk you sometimes get from cheap eBay bulk packs. If you’re doing work where reliability matters—like embedded systems, prototyping power supplies, or even audio coils—this is the kind of wire I’d recommend. Heck, I’m already using it on a Tesla coil experiment I’ve been messing with (just for fun, nothing dangerous… yet). TL;DR: Clean, tough, thermally stable, and consistent from start to finish. Whether you’re building a transformer or just tinkering, this is the kind of spool you want on your bench.

Item as described
I cant really say much. It's copper wire. Arrived on time. The weight feels right.

Worked for ballast at 1 30 0V AC
I wound 1000 turns on an iron core transformer to which I added an air gap. This limited the current to ~500 mA when connected directly to mains (actually it was stepped up slightly using an autotransformer to 130V), there were no shorts at this voltage. I would say it worked rather well. I plan on using this at 240V after a few enamel coatings. I suspect it will do just fine.
