Ideal Industries30-503 Crimpmaster Crimp Tool, for CATV RG-59 and RG-6 Captive Ring F-Connectors

I have had several projects of late that required electrical connections and splicing, and I was tired of using the old style crimpers where you ended up with a possibly crappy connection due to inconsistency while crimping. I went searching on multiple forums for opinions and answers, and made the determination that these were the best all around ratcheting crimpers available on the market. Lo and behold, these folks were selling them for peanuts compared to what the retail was. I took a chance, ordered the first one, and once I realized it was the real deal, I went ahead and ordered two more. One will go to a really good friend and the other will become my crimoer for insulated terminals. These are compatible with not only the Ideal dies, but also the ones sold by Parts Express, and I believe a couple of other companies. Trust me, for the expense and results, this is one hell of a great purchase!

What's not to love? I use this professionally, and I don't think there is a better crimper on the market. Only drawback, IMO, is that you need a screwdriver to change dies; it would really speed things up if you could do it without tools. This is why I bought extras, so I could just switch tools, as it is faster than changing dies. My original one has spent over a decade on my truck and on jobsites and it is still in perfect functioning condition. I don't anticipate the need for a replacement any time soon.

I really like this crimp tool and think I got a great deal for this on Amazon. This same product was 3x the price at my local Lowe's. I know that the whole industry has changed to compression connectors, but I like to have a variety. I also wanted to buy a compression connecting tool, so I bought the Klein kit. This crimp tool has a great ratcheting action and really makes a nice, easy connection that will stand the test of time. I like to only use crimp connections inside the house, and compression connectors outside the house. Overall, an outstanding tool for the very basic crimp connection.

I'm not sure if Ideal makes different levels of tools but this one seemed to be cheaper than my last one. Having said that for what I paid for it then it's an Awesome purchase! I would never pay 60-80 retail for one when I could get this one!!!

It is adjustable for making the tightest compression on your coax connecter. I have to use both hands to squeeze it tight enough to compress it completely so the tool releases but it doesn't hurt my hands. Great tool. I should have bought one of these years ago.

Use these at work and they are high quality! Don't settle for the HF ones.
