Definitely not recommended for thick hair as the bristles are too soft so only brushes the surface, never getting down to the scalp. Disappointed because it’s a well made product and wasn’t cheap, but I won’t be using it for my hair.

The whole brush is the real deal, yes, the wooden handle is real, too. I brought this for my 3 month old baby because she has so much hair. I brush her hair twice a day and the cradle cap is coming away and not returning. Her hair is quite fluffy after brushing but just twirling it with my fingers brings that down and leaves the curls light and shiny. Great quality handle and bristles compared to boar bristle brushes I’ve brought previously. I’m sure she will have this brush for years to come.
