it is indeed a 500 gig hard drive. i used it for a modified ps2 setup, and it's really loud when it turns on. like, i can hear it across the room while it's bolted into the ps2 case and tucked away in my games dresser. but it works amazingly, has held up to a couple of inter-town trips with no issue, no data problems, no nothing. very reliable

Surprising
This worked surprisingly well. I needed this for my son's new PC to ameliorate the lack of ample storage (only 128 GB SSD), so this is used as a second drive. We just built the PC together for the first time. The only game he wanted on the main drive was Fortnite, and I've had a couple games installed on the other drive for myself. It was "Layers of Fear 2", "Alan Wake", and "Dead Cells". Maybe since I'm barely scratching the surface of SSDs and their vastly improved speeds, but I really saw no problems in loading and the drive is still running strong till this day. Granted, if I was playing multiplayer games online, then I would probably noticed the loading speeds more. However, we have no complaints.
