When I put this coat on I was so surprised at how warm it is. It is very lightweight. And at first, it seemed really thin, so I was afraid it wouldn't be warm enough. But it is quite toasty! It's just the start of winter here in northern Ohio, but we've already seen temperatures down in the teens. And I wore this coat outside in that cold blustery weather with only a turtleneck top on underneath, and I was plenty warm! The outer fabric is thick and tough, like a good cotton duck. So I am not anxious about it ripping when I am outside shoveling or doing yard work.I highly recommend this parka.I am a 60 year old woman. 5'1". 150 lbs.....so a bit rounded out. I bought the XL size even though the site recommended I get a large. XL is just right, it leaves me room to move around, and when temps drop even more I'll be able to wear a sweater in there too.

I bought this coat for my daughter who was taking a school trip to the East Coast where the weather is colder than where we live. We were looking for a coat that also had a functional connected hood. This was a last-minute purchase so I was really worried about the outcome. The coat fit beautifully. She was very pleased with the fit. She told me it kept her very warm. Although we live in a warmer climate for much of the year, she is looking forward to the days she can wear it to school.

I love this coat. It's warm, the lining is snuggly soft and it fits well. It seems to be very well made as well.

This is a good looking, very warm coat! Sleeves are long, and the coat fits just right. My only complaint is that when I removed it from the bag that it comes in, it had 2-3 very long hairs from a blond person. And, I had to remove about 30 or so white animal hairs. Someone had clearly tried this coat on and returned it. I love it, and I'm keeping it. But, I was somewhat grossed out by having to clean people and pet hairs off of it before being able to use my "new" coat.

First, let me say that I love this short jacket. I am pleased with my purchase and would not want to be without it. I purchased the yellow jacket. However, warm is relative. I live in New York City so in winter I experience very extreme temperatures ranging from approximately 10 degrees to 60 degrees. Because of the length of this coat / jacket, I would not wear it when the temperatures goes below 40 degrees if I was going to be exposed to cold for more than 15 minutes especially if there are high winds. Now with a winter scarf and layers under my pants and a sweater under my jacket, I might be able to withstand the cold temperatures. However, I do not like being cold so I would wear a longer winter coat such as my Landsend Chalet. My Nautica puffer in a similar size and design is warmer than this one. The material isn't really designed for extreme temperatures. The front has double zippers so you have great versatility in wearing it. It is this feature that makes it love this jacket and the mustard color. So to answer your question, if this is going to be your only winter coat and you have to endure harsh temperatures then purchase different jacket; but, if this jacket is going to one in your wardrobe of winter coats, don't hesitate unless this purchase is for a child because the sleeve to appear as though they would withstand rough play. Finally, let me say my jackets arrived weeks before the original delivery date quoted at time of purchase. I hope I have been helpful. I have considered buying another in the same color so I wouldn't have to be without it should something happens to this one. (wink)

Absolutely love love this coat. Fits perfect can wear pull on sweaters with it very comfortably. Been having some very cold temperatures where I live and wore it the day i received it and it is so warm and cozy. Very happy with this purchase.

Lovely warm heavy jacket. Well made and good quality. I ordered my usual size large but the shoulders were too big and the overall fit was poor. If you are a pear shape I wouldn’t bother with this jacket unless you are above 5’ 4” then it probably will be above your hip area.

We recently went on vacation to Norway, Scotland and Iceland. places that were not quite so cold, but where the weather could change almost every couple of hours. She was looking for something to protect her from the rain, wind and cold but not freezing weather, and this was it. Came with a hood, it was very comfortable and she liked that it was waterproof. Well built item.

This is a great jacket. Super warm and fits true to size.

Nice, lightweight winter coat. Fits well and the hood closure adjusts so you can keep out the wind, rain and snow. The double front zipper closure will be great at keeping out the cold and two pockets zipper closed so you won't lose your keys, phone or gloves!

Very comfy, quite warm, fits good, I got a large and can wear a hoody under it, but it's fitted. Would need to be way below zero to need both jacket and hoody. Only wish it was a couple inches longer. Would still recommend.

It is a great jacket, warm and comfortable. My only problem with it is the hoodie doesn't help with the cold. It does fully fit over your head at all. And the inside zipper zips up to an awkward position so you can't really zip it all the way up unless you buy it extra big. So you would have to wear a hooded sweater under or toque for your upper body to stay warm.
