Good performance, great customer service
This is a great cable. This cable gets all sorts of official recommendations, and, in my own experience, this cable is remarkably high-quality for the cost. That said, I've had a couple of these cables flake out on me after about a year of normal wear and tear. (I mostly use the cable to charge my phone at night on my bedside stand. I sometimes sleep with the phone charging under my pillow, and that may lead to increased wear and tear.) People who get mad about this don't understand the underlying difficulties of maintaining the integrity of a cable after repeated use. For a 'standard' cable, this kind of performance is excellent. (And the cable is so cheap!) If you want something that will last longer, I recommend Anker's powerline series, which includes more advanced, non-standard wire reliability tech. But *most* importantly, in each instance where my cable flaked out before the 18-month warranty was up, Anker quickly sent me a replacement, apologized way more than they needed to, and provided a surprisingly pleasant customer service experience. Don't take my word for it. Here's my last email exchange with Anker: Me: "Hi - I ordered a 3-ft Lightning to USB Cable from Amazon on July 4, 2015 (ORDER # XXXXXXX). The cable has been unreliable for the past few months and now doesn't keep a steady connection. I'd like to get a replacement cable. Is that possible? Here's the cable serial number: XXXXXXX" Anker: "Thanks for your email and sorry for late reply. We understand that your 3ft cables is faulty too. We do take our quality control very seriously with numerous and rigorous tests in place. So for a customer to receive a defective product is an unusual occurrence, but to hear of a single customer receiving 2 items that don’t perform to our high standards is very rare indeed. I will forward the details of the case straight to our quality control team so they can be made aware of the situation. Thanks for your confirmation of SN and your address. We have arranged a replacement for you per your preference. It should be shipped after 1 business day and should arrive within 3-4 days after shipping. Please keep us updated how the new one works after you receive the replacement. Please do not worry about sending the defective product back on this occasion. You have been inconvenienced enough. We would recommend you to recycle or dispose of the defective one at your convenience. Apologies again for the inconvenience. If you have any other question, please do not hesitate to contact us. We will be more than happy to help." Anker: "We thought you’d like to know that we’ve shipped your replacement item(s) and the delivery is making its way to you as you read this. You can track the package via the link below: [URL]. Your satisfaction is our priority. If you have anything else at all that you’d like to discuss or ask then our customer service team are ready and waiting to help. Thanks for choosing AnkerDirect, and we look forward to hearing how the replacement works for you."

Great Product, don't bother with the overpriced low quality Apple cables.
I bought this in December of 2014. At the time of writing this review, it is July of 2015, so I'm a fairly long term user of this product. I've also used Anker's micro USB cables for my smartphone for about a year. For those wondering, both are still performing flawlessly. Way more durable than the Apple cables, which are overpriced, last maybe 1 year tops for most folks, and seem to collect a strange coating of dirt. These Anker cables don't have the same high-friction coating that the Apple ones do (the MacBook power supplies seem to have this as well), so the Anker ones are much easier to keep clean. I now recommend and regularly gift these to my friends and family that need quality lightning cables. For those wondering about the size of the lightning end and whether or not it fits their case, I'm almost certain it will. The head is really small, and it works just fine with all cases that I've come across for both iPhones and iPads (I work part time at a electronic repair place, so I see quite a few). Furthermore, these are inexpensive enough that you don't need to feel too bad if you forget them in a hotel room or on an airplane. They even occasionally go on sale for 5 bucks! Certainly beats putting down an entire Andrew Jackson on the Apple ones. Also, Anker really does stand behind their products. Out of a 5-pack of Anker microUSB cables (NOT these lightning ones) I bought, 1 of them went bad (the little locking teeth got stuck inside the microUSB plug). I explained this to Anker customer support, and got a replacement cable shipped out to me in 2 days free of charge. They didn't even make me ship the bad cable back! They just asked for its serial number, probably to keep track of that particular production lot. So if you're feeling nervous about spending less than 10 bucks on a lightning cable, don't worry! These guys take care of you. TL;DR: Great cable that works well with all lightning devices, better quality/durability than the Apple cables, good price, Prime shipping, good company. Buy it. Also check out the Anker micro-USB cables if you need them.

Lightning connector falls off of the phone.
Updated review after change for a non-deffective unit: The producent has taken the initiative to contact me and has informed me that the unit I've received might be defective. This happens and is understandable, so I agreed to replace the product with a non-deffective one, and the replacement product is a whole different story. The cable itself, as I said before feels like it has the same quality as apple cable, which is good for me. The lightning connector in the cable works much better, and does not fall off so easily. I've in a way tried to measure the connectivity strength by hanging an iPhone 6 on the Original Apple Lightning Cable & the product I've received. Before replacement, the iPhone was just falling off with it's own mass. Now, it takes about a good shake for it to fall off, just about the same as original product. Therefore, I am willing to change my review score. Original review: Very disappointed with this product. The cable itself is just alright, feels the same in terms of quality as the standard apple cable. The lightning port however, is just a joke. It does not sit in the phone port at all, even a slightest movement of a phone results in the cable falling off. When it's in the phone, the connector moves slightly to the sides, which also results in a broken connection. It's very cheap, but it shouldn't fall off so easily.

Ok so firstly, by way of disclosure, I was supplied a sample for test and evaluation, and I promised to write a review that is fair and honest. ****EDIT****. I have since purchased these cables as replacements for the OEM ones as they are frankly the best quality lightning cables. I will also add that these cables are working fine with my wife's iPhone 6 and my 6 plus and iPad Air 2. So, my wife and I own 4 Apple devices, all lightning connector - iPhone 5, 5c, iPad 4 and iPad mini. Charging cables come and go, need them at home, in the car, in the office so you can imagine, we've bought quite a few to supplement the original cables, which frankly are disappointing for Apple - the cables crimp and crease at the connector over time leading to longevity problems. The non-genuine replacements are hit and miss. Even in a batch of 3 cables from one supplier I can get random performance one cable working, another not and a third only some of the time on some of the devices!!! So, this little MFI certified cable comes as a welcome treat. The Anker presentation is simple and attractive, fuss free. First sight shows the cable inside is clearly not wound as tight as either Apples own or many of the cheap copies - this can be put down to the clear difference in cable sleeve - it's not that the cable sleeve looks different, it's just feels different, stiffer, stronger. Clearly this isn't going to wind up in a little knot, but I take some reassurance that the cable is stronger than others. Also, the connector tips look sturdier. These are housed in a more robust plastic housing, slightly bulkier than the Apple own, neatly branded, but also apparently a single moulded piece rather than what Apples are which look to be a two piece with insert. Importantly and to avoid the ever so frustrating issue of bent/creased cables, at the point of exit from the connector tip, the cables are supported by about 5mm of rigid plastic extending back along the cable. Again a distinct difference to Apples preferred rubber wraparound. In terms of length, the Anker cables are 3ft making them about 10cm less than the Apple standard 1m, and it is a shame Anker don't have options on length of cable - I'm sure there would be interest in 2m or 3m lengths (my first recommendation to Anker....) In respect of performance, it does exactly what it says - no frustrating error messages on any of the devices, connects well and charges well. I haven't observed any difference compared to Apples own cable in respect of rate but I do think it's noticeably quicker than some of the cheap non OEM copies I have. ***edit*** Just notice some other reviews are concerned about the certified status of these cables. In my experience these cables are definitely MFI certified and I have not had any error messages when using them with my iPhones. So my final scores are; Packaging 5/5 - simple, fuss free, minimal waste Appearance 5/5 - smart appearance, good sturdy quality and finish, I like the SN printed on the cable *Value 4/5 - £11.99 is a fair amount of money compared to cheap Chinese specials, but quality pays. There are potentially some cheaper MFI cables, but I can't be certain their quality in terms of the cable and connector housings are as good as this one. ***EDIT*** June 2015. So £11.99 when I reviewed originally was good value. £4.99 is the current price, this is a CRAZY CRAZY steal of a price, now 5/5 !! Performance 5/5 - great, does exactly what is needed, just as good as Apples own cables Overall 5/5 - now the issue here is not that the cable is good, or not, or whether it's worth £11.99, it's whether it's actually better than the OEM cable? I would go so far as to say it is, on the strength of the build quality bettering Apples own flimsy quality.

Nothing negative to say, these are tougher and all signs so far indicate that they last longer than the cables Apple supplies. Apple needs to acquire Anker for their high quality products.
