Replacing a 30 year old version of the same model
OLFA invented the snap blade and no one else has done it any better. I bought this model in a hardware store in the Philippines almost 30 years ago. Great knife. I lost it last year at work so I ordered another one. Same great quality. We all like to say "they don't make stuff like they used to". OLFA didn't get that memo. I'm expecting this one to last another 30.

I have a bunch of these – they're the best.
We have these all over the house, as well as in my shop. It's an excellent cutting tool: precise, replaceable, razor-sharp, and you can easily find replacement blades. I keep the snapped-off blades in an old soda can marked BLADES for safety :)I've tried others, but nothing compares – a great item to have around the home or shop.

The best small box-cutter type knife on the market
I've had one of these OLFA 9mm knives for twenty years, bought my 2nd one about 10-years ago. And recently bought a third one. The first two are still going strong -- just needed one more for another location. These knives are small, ergonomically designed, durable, and very pleasing aesthetically. Originally popular with artists and architects (cutting things for their work), they are now popular for all light duty cutting operations (like opening boxes shipped from Amazon.I strongly recommend the OLFA knife.

Screw lock works!
Excellent quality, and the screw lock actually works. Exactly what I was looking for

Works for me
I've used a fair amount of different knives and this is the first one that the lock works. I use these knives every day at work and this one works great and holds up. So far so good.

Trusty knife
Ive had this same cutter three times, not bc they stopped working, i lost the first two. You cant go wrong with this one, it is good for everyday use and to make scale models, which is what i used it for. The small blade will let you go through details, ive also cut materials with different thickness and works fine. The grip is also very comfortable and the safety screw is also reliable.

The new (black) lock wheel is metal, not plastic.
I've seen quite a few people say that the new black lock wheel is made of plastic. When the unit first arrived and didn't show the brass lock ring shown in the photos, I was sure I was going to have to return it. I'm glad I opened her up and looked more closely. You can see the photos I've attached for yourself. The company should ABSOLUTELY update their product photos. I've given them 3 stars because there are LOTS of reviews mentioning the incorrect photos they've had PLENTY of time to change them out. It took me just a few minutes to upload mine. Shame!

Great knife have used this model for 35 years still works great.
I have had one of these for more than 30 years. It had brass knob for tightening and still works like a charm. Only bought these for friends who like mine. I think the new ones have plastic knobs which may not last as long but still a really great knife. The picture still shows the brass knob.
