Bought one 4 years ago, wore it all the time. Finally started to show some wear, so I bought another one!

Sun protect

This hat was exactly what I wanted to keep the sun off without making my head hot. A nice bonus is the little zipper compartment underneath where you could put a small ice pack on the back or your neck, or spare change and an ID.

Perfect for yard work and vacations. First one is still intact, but sun worn, so I’ll keep on using that for the yard and the new one for going out.

I love it! This hat was a life saver (or rather, a face saver) when I had the chance to "field test" it in the Phoenix, AZ spring weather. I had a lot of hours over a course of four weekends in the direct sun where temperatures varied from low 80's to low 100's, wind, blowing dust and plenty of sweating. I never got any serious sun on my face, the top is designed to let a decent amount of heat out through the venting and I never overheated (which I'm prone to do) while wearing this hat. The adjustable head band was able to make the hat stay in place with the wind and even if bent over to pick things up. The neck flap is also long enough to cover the neck even when looking down, chin to chest.The description failed to mention there is a little zipper pouch in the back/neck flap that was a perfect place for ice! That may or may not have been the intended purpose but it sure worked out to put a little ice in there. Then the melting ice would hit my upper back and cause evaporation cooling, adding another layer of sun/heat resistance.I would recommend this product to anyone that is interested! Definitely was helpful to me!

If you have a larger head size, you're possibly like me and steer clear of one-size hats, but I decided to trust Sun and Sports (one of the sellers of this hat) who mentioned that they've received very few returns over the years for hat size on this Adams design. I have a 23 1/2 circumference and a fairly high dome and this hat fits nicely. When I say nicely, I mean it is snug fit fully expanded, but doesn't cut off surface blood flow which a cheaper version of this hat did (one that fits "most" sizes). I would say that if you're above 24 inches, you might find this hat too small depending on your sensitivity to hat pressure on around your head.Other than that, I just wore this just purchased hat on a 14 mile hike and found it to be comfortable, reasonably well ventilated, and had great cover from the sun. The brim, sweat band and fabric are superior to at least one of the cheaper knock-offs of this hat style that I tried -- if you're leaning in the direction of this hat style, I'd recommend to pay a few extra dollars for the Adam's version.

Lightweight and provides great protection for face, ears, neck. Perfect gift!
