Grat for learners
My 6 year old is starting to practice penmanship, so I bought her this pen.Her sister also got one when she was six (in red)The pen is well made and can be easily repaired when the kids treat it too roughly. We wish there were different colors available, only blue and red. The design choice of using a wooden body is nice, but it does pick-up ink stains. The pen writes and functions well, but it does take proprietary LAMY cartridges.

Awesome pen
My children and I have used Lamy pens for years. More than 20 years actually. The kids in Holland use them in class. You will not regret buying this fountain pen. It writes beautifully, the ink flows super easy. I lays perfect in your hand and can take a drop or bump easily. It is a pen that will last you for a long time and it will quickly become your favorite. I recently bought another three for my nieces. They make wonderful gifts for young and old alike.

Well made. A bit short.
Well made but a bit short and small. I don’t know if the tip makes as big of a difference as the “pride of ownership” that a kid has.

Great little pen for young and old
I just took delivery on this and put a converter in it, swapped the nib for a cursive italic that I ground from an Asian medium clone nib, and filled it with Pilot Blue-Black ink. It writes wonderfully. This is a very comfortable lightweight pen that would be perfect for someone with arthritis or other hand issues that make writing with a skinny pen painful. Wish I had something like this as a kid!

Love a Lamy!
This is hysterical! Bought this for myself on the recommendation of another adult friend, but then decided it would make a great gift for a Grand Daughter (that isn't even born yet!) My wife saw it and decided it should go to an adult son that now loves it and showed it to our other son. Now HE wants one! It looks like Santa make be getting these as stocking stuffers for everyone this year, including himself! This pen looks, feels, and writes better than any other fountain pen I've used, including other Lamy's. The wooden barrel makes it really special - they need to craft a line with the same dimensions but a more adult look - but then they might mess up a good thing.

Great starter pen
Bought this for my niece because she wanted to use my fountain pens. Wish we encouraged children to learn to write with higher quality pens in the US. LAMY is one of my favorite brands.

High quality product
This is a high quality product. I have had one of those 28years ago when I started writing cursive in the second grad in Germany. I still had this pen when I graduated. I so got this for my son too so I can teach him how to use it. It’s specially made for kids hands and it does not slide or slip.
