Not so great in quality
The quality of the gliders is not really good. We have quite a few of the planes that are broken even before we assembled them. They also don't last. You are lucky if you can play one for a few times. The only good thing about it is it's easy to assemble.

Found the perfect use for these!
These are not a high end calibrated airplane toy. Sometimes they fly straight and sometimes they dive into the ground. Sometimes they do not fly at all and it takes some adjusting. For the price I for one knew these were not going to be perfect in any way. That being said what I used them for was PERFECT. We have a Christmas party at the end of the year where we give out a grand prize. I put a small piece of tape on the floor and then made a line roughly 15 feet away and everyone wrote picked out their airplane and wrote their name on it with permanent marker. Then everyone took a turn throwing the airplanes and the person that got closest to the tape was the winner of the prize. ;)This went over very well and everyone had a ton of fun, we had grown men that were "modifying" their airplanes with toothpicks changing the weight and making all kinds of adjustments. Everyone was test flying them like they were about to go to an airshow.

A bunch of gliders, but...
The box I received contained 12 different styles of gliders. Several were not shown in the Amazon photo. I uploaded a photo of all 12 styles. The number of each style varied from 5 to 7, but mostly 6 of each type. The gliders were all exactly 5" in length. Assembly is easy, but the foam easily bends so care must be taken. They don't too well fly w/o the plastic clip on the front of the glider. Once the clip is fastened, the gliders typically do a nose dive until proper positioning is established (if possible). Many from my box never flew properly as I believe the clips are too heavy for the foam. For my order, the Amazon shipping box was dent free, but the glider box from orientaltrading.com was old, beat-up, discolored, and taped shut. Every single glider had multiple bends in the foam. Since other reviewers had better luck w/their gliders, your mileage will vary. At least this item is inexpensive.Update 9/14/2011: For those gliders that nose dive, I shaved off some plastic from the front of the clip, approx. 1/8" or the entire semicircle of the plastic. There is a line on my clips where the semicircle ends. That line is where I cut to with a coarse metal file, or a grinder, or good knife. Those gliders now soar through the air instead of nose dive.

Great for something like that if you're looking for ideas
I bought these for decoration use in an aviation themed baby shower, and they were exactly what I expected. Great for something like that if you're looking for ideas. I also spray painted some of them, maybe half, with semi-decent results. Some of them bent and warped too much under the moisture and weight, but most turned out well for what I needed. I found the packaging a little annoying, but maybe that's the only way to make sure they arrive in good condition and all together with their pieces... Each glider is individually wrapped in small plastic packaging that didn't tear open easily, had to be cut, and then the gliders needed to be assembled. It's probably part of the activity when assembling with kids and such, but for my purposes, it was tedious. They arrived on time and without any issues

Fun little toy for a great price.
We love these planes! We have ordered them twice now and always make sure we have a little stash going on. You get what you pay for, so don't expect a large airplane, one that will last for the next 10 years, or one that will be able to hold up to a rough and tumble toddler. For the price you pay, these planes are great. Some of the different things we have used them for:- Make a masking tape runway and land some planes- Attach to homemade valentine's that say "Valentine, you make my heart soar!"- Throw a couple in your bag for a small, portable activity- Birthday party favors- Game at a kid's birthday party- Prizes for school carnival, fair, or other such eventThe variety is great, and the price is right!

Different Products Sent- Still a happy customer.
I ordered two of these glider sets at different times, and received different products. Both products were great, however, not the same. One of the products came in a display box and the other one came in a bag. Each of the gliders were wrapped individually which was perfect, because we used them for Valentines Day for my son's class valentine exchange. We said "You're just Plane awesome". These were a hit with all of the 1st graders (ages 6-7). The two different products varied in size a tiny bit, one of them was about 1/2 inch bigger than the other. These would be a great generic prize for a carnival, or for a birthday party grab bag. Even with the differing product, I would still order this again. Both of the products did not disappoint.

Cute but doesn't last long.
I purchased these to use at our church's VBS. We had an aviation theme so I thought it would be cute to hand these out to the kids and hang some from the ceiling. Overall, they met our needs. They are easy to put together. Even our 4 year olds could do it correctly without assistance. However, they do not last long. Kids are rough and they will be broken within a few minutes. But, with as many as you get, it's not that big a deal. We had a lot left over from VBS so my 4 year old plays wit them everyday. She gets a new one out, puts it together and when it breaks she just throws it away and gets a new one. They are fun to use so overall I am happy with the purchase.

Cub Scout prizes
We used these as Cub Scout prizes for our annual Halloween carnival / obstacle course / party.Once again they were a big hit. They're easy to assemble, but small hands need to be a bit careful to keep from tearing the body to get the wings on. It's good practice for fine motor skills and patience.Didn't see any that hand trouble flying, and didn't hear any complaints about them.Would highly recommend for an inexpensive prize or party gift bag.
