Does it come with staples?

No, it does not. Also note the "size" of this stapler. It is not quite as big as a normal stapler would be. However, it does take the standard size staples.

Where is the built in staple remover?

Thank you for your interest in our Swingline Vintage Stapler. The built in staple remover is located on top in the back end. The gold piece you see sticking out in the back of the image is the staple remover.

One review stated the white & gold stapler is cream & gold, and when used leaves a gap between the paper & staple. anyone else have these issues?

I bought this stapler cuz it’s been around a long time and very stable. I have not had one problem with it
