Maybe too much fun for one movie.
De Dana Dan (3D) is one of those movies that brings a reduction in IQ with each subsequent watching. The first watching I laughed a little mostly just trying to read the subtitles and keep up. The second watching I laughed a lot and by the third watching I thought it was hilarious.3D is a masterpiece of confusion. 3D makes absolutely no attempt to confuse the audience; rather many of the main characters are wildly and hopelessly confused. The film makes no attempt to unconfuse them, either. Even to the very end the actors become furious in their unacceptable positions. To make matters better, Johnny Lever (who I think has ruined scenes in many movies), is also confused and seriously abused. He is actually pretty good, but all of the actors are very good at selling the crazy script. Except for a few places the slapstick is pretty high quality, really.The songs and dancing are catchy, lively and have integrity in that they stick to a theme. Hotty Naughty, performed in a casino, features Neha Dhupia with some male backup dancers living up to its title. It's hot and it's naughty. A real foot tapper.Baamulaiza features Katrina, Akshay, Sunial Shetty and Sameera Reddy. Kat is wearing a dress that flows like magic and Sameera is captivating with Shreya Goshal singing playback. Does Akshay ever behave? The song Paisa Paisa is pretty good too. None of the music disappoints.There is a huge well done water scene at the end of the movie. Although some of the water is real, most of the water is fake high tech digital water.There is a reason why 3D is currently the 5th highest grossing Indian film in 2009. I give the movie 4 1/2 based on the value received relative to the amount paid.

I like it very much. hilarious comedy. Akshay Kumar, Paresh Rawal, and Johnny Lever mainly did the best work in this movie.

Defective
I checked with my brand-new Sony Player that plays other DVDs and BluRays without an issue and it could not read the disc. The Disc had smudges on it when I first opened it. I realized it may have been a Region issue. I ordered a Universal DVD player and checked again, with other discs and this product. Same issue, no disc. Item is defective.

I ordered this DVD because my friends told me the movie is fantastic and hilarious, which i am sure it is. The DVD came defective and scratched. Did not play in my DVD player so i returned it and asked for replacement. The replacement arrived promptly but was damaged and defective too. It didn't play either. I am now returning that one too and have requested a refund. Very disappointing!

Good but confusing
This movie has funny moments and really good songs, but the story line was very confusing to follow. There is so much going on and lots of people involved and it took me a couple times of watching in order to understand what was happening.

Akshay Kumar was born as Rajiv Hari Om Bhatia on the 9th September 1967 in Amritsar to a middle class Punjabi household. His father was a government worker. He grew up in Delhi and later in Mumbai s Koliwada area. He did his schooling at the Don Bosco School and his college years were spent in Khalsa College, where he showed an inclination for sports. He studied martial arts in Bangkok while working as a chef.
He came back to Delhi to teach martial arts when one of his students suggested he try his hand in modeling, which led to an offer to act in Deedar as the lead actor. Akshay was linked with several of his co-stars like Raveena Tandon, Shilpa Shetty, Pooja Batra and even Rekha. He is currently married to actress turned entrepreneur Twinkle Khanna and they have a son Araav.
Akshay Kumar didn t grab any headlines with his debut Saugandh in 1991. Deedar, Dancer and Khiladi were released in 1992. With Khiladi being one of the biggest hits of the year. In 1993, he came out with atleast six movies all of which fell flat. But he more than made up for it in 1994 with hits like Mohra with Raveena Tandon, Yeh Dillagi with Kajol and Saif Ali Khan and Mein Khiladi Tu Anari with Saif Ali Khan and Shilpa Shetty. He received a nomination for the Filmfare Best Actor award for his romantic role in Yeh Dillagi.
He tried his hand in the comedy stream quite successfully in 2000 with Hera Pheri, which was a laugh riot. Dhadkan with pal Suneil Shetty and Shilpa Shetty also was a good performer at the box office. In 2006 he starred in a sequel to Hera Pheri titled Phir Hera Pheri. As was the former, the sequel became a huge success at the box office. He established himself as a successful comedy actor with a series of comedy releases.
2007 proved to be Kumar's most successful year during his career in the industry, and as described by box office analysts, \"probably the best ever recorded by an actor, with four outright hits and no flops.\" Singh Is Kinng was a huge success at the box office and broke the first-week worldwide record of Om Shanti Om, the previous highest figure. He also made a debut on the small screen with Fear Factor India.
About the Director
Priyadarshan was born in Thiruvananthapuram, India to Mr.Nair who worked as a librarian at the University of Kerala. He had an inclination to play cricket professionally but an injury to his left eye owing to a cricket ball dashed his hopes. He is married to Lizzy, a Malayalam actress also known as Lakshmi Priyadarshini, with whom he has worked with in several movies. They have two children, Kalyani and Siddharth.
Priyadarshan wrote and directed the Malayalam comedy Poochakkoru Mookkuthi in 1984 which became a huge hit. It was remade in Hindi as Hungama in 2003. He worked with friend Mohanlal in Boeing Boeing (1985) that was another comedy. Chitram (1988), with Mohanlal playing the lead was a commercial success. The movie was reworked in Hindi as Chori Chori with Mithun Chakraborthy. Abhimanyu (1991) was a story around the involvement of a man with the underworld. Gardish (1993) starring Jackie Shroff and Dimple Kapadia was a remake of Sibi Malayil s Kireedam.
Other movies include Kaala Pani (1996) an action-drama with Mohanlal and Tabu, Chandralekha (1997) and Virasat (1997) a copy of Kamal Hassan s Thevar Magan with Anil Kapoor, Tabu and Pooja Batra.
He later came up with a string of remakes including Hera Pheri (2000) (remake of Ramji Rao Speaking), Hungama (2003) (remake of Poochakkoru Mookkuthi), Hulchul (2004) (remake of Godfather), Garam Masala (2005) (remake of Boeing Boeing), Chup Chup Ke (2006) (remake of Punjabi House),Bhool Bhulaiyaa (2007) (Remake of Manichitrathazhu), Bhagam Bhag (2008) (Remake of Mannar Mathai Speaking) and Billu (2009) (Remake of Kadha Parayumbol).
