Do you have to pull to remove cork from bottle?

No, no pulling needed at all! That's what makes this so excellent, you just put it onto the bottle and twist, the twisting pulls the cork out whilst the internal "shoulders" to the corkscrew hold against the top of the bottle. Simple and easy. I love these corkscrews!

is there a full steel version of this ?

I don’t know if steel version but this one is the best cork remover, always works well and quickly. I have dispensed with other devices!
