Can I put foil pans in this so I can cook food without it actually touching the electric roaster?

You don’t want to. There is an insert that serves the same function. Do NOT put water between the roaster and the insert. The food cooks beautifully. Moisture is so well retained that you will need to use a baster to remove juices at 45 minutes and 1-1/2 to 3 hours. Otherwise you get boiled Turkey. Keep the juices for gravy making.

Is there a chemical smell on first use

No there is no chemical smell. I roasted a chicken in mine and it was delicious. Browned nicely too. Using it for Thanksgiving, for the turkey.

Can someone help me measure the internal size of the removal pan? ( the inner width, inner length and inner height ), thanks a lot.

The inner length is 17", width is 11" and the height is 6". Hope this helps!

What is lowest temperature setting? can you get the equal to low on a crock-pot?

My roaster is stored in a bag in another building but I believe it’s around 200 degrees. I have no idea what temp is low in a crockpot, sorry 🙂. I’ve used it to simmer bone broth for 30 hours at around 300, if that helps at all.
