Cuts like Buttah
I had purchased two 55 gallon drums to use as burn barrels but the tops were still intact. Needing to remove them I wanted a saw that would do the job without breaking the bank. After looking at many higher priced saws I took a chance on this model. As the unit does not come with blades i also purchased the dewalt set recommended by amazon. Upon inspection on arrival the unit is a solid build with a rotating head for horizontal cutting. The blades seemed a little thin for the job. 55 gallon drums are pretty stout. I decided to forge ahead despite my doubts. I did not have a drill or chisel to punch through the thinnest part barrel so I used the opening already there which is fairly thick. Bracing myself for a blade snap I fired this little baby up. After momentary resistance the blade began to move smoothly through the metal. After a few angle adjustments I was able to remove the top easily. The first one wasn't a masterpiece but the second one turned out beautifully. For the money this saw rocks.

Great saw, plenty of power
Cut a spa into quarters to get it out of my backyard and to the dump. Worked great. I did it for the cost of this saw. Some contractor I called wanted $500 to do it! Say what? Plenty of power. You don't need to spend more.

Good deal for the money but shipping costs too much!!
This item is perfect for small jobs. Can cut flatstock and small 1 1/2" pipe with ease and sure beats a hack saw by a 100 miles. It can even cut wood with a wood blade. You can buy blades that fit it at Home depot or lowes or even walmart. Its got a 2500 RPM action so it will cut reasonably well. I had a 100 dollar powertool model 18V cordless version of the sawzall and it lasted me 12 years for use on lots of odd jobs, but the battery went on it , so I got this corded version and it is well worth the 20 dollars they sell it for, trouble is the shipping was like 21 dollars. But I got it anyway, and I'm happy with it. Just be careful and see if there are any cheaper shipping options.

Failed to perform on first use
Well I bought this saw with the intentions of using it to do some yard jobs. I finally broke it out of its package, read the manual, watched a Youtube video, and then got on my safety glasses and gloves and proceeded to insert a wood blade into the chuck. It's not hard to do. I plugged in the faw and began to cut about a 1 inch thick branch off of a tree for starters, and the blade fell out. OK. I stopped and unplugged the drill and opened the chuck again, inserted the blade as far as possible and closed it back up. Attempt 2 the same thing happened. The blade fell off. Back to the house. Read the manual again, watched a youtube video again. Went back to the yard to try to insert the blade again and the chuck won't open at all. I will take it to a repair shop but still it's a total disappointment. I can assume it's my fault, but really I don't think so. If it's that darn delicate then why call it a power tool

and I like that the shoe is adjustable
I'm not sure what all the negative comments are about. Sure, it doesn't come with any blades, but it doesn't explicitly say it does either. It may be heavy, but to me that's a sign of durability. I also found the variable speed works flawlessly. Seems most people who gave negative reviews of this are just sour because that's easier than admitting to your own mistakes.I found this to be very user-friendly, and I like that the shoe is adjustable. Note this is a pretty power hungry tool. Even at a low speed without actually cutting anything, it uses around 200W.Also in case you care about the packaging, beware. Even though the shipment box was fine, the product box itself was pretty crumpled. But, that's the seller's fault, not the product's.

Great tool for the money !!!
Bought this reciprocal saw after I borrowed the same Chicago Electric saw from a friend. I used it and a carbide tipped blade to cut thru a 4 inch cement residential sewer line. The ability to rotate the head of the tool made the job much easier. It's latge but easy enough to handle and 6 amps isore than enough power for use around the house. Great tool at a great price !!

Want to return or exchange product
I have changed my opinion of JTB to a VERY POSITIVE REVIEW--Let me explain! It was broken when it came on 8/25/18 but I just opened the saw as I need it for cutting small trees for Fall-The box came damaged, no instructions manual-seem to be thrown into box-The Chuck load and unload saw blades does not lock in place-I wrote a negative review & asked how can I get saw replaced? TWO DAYS LATER I received a BRAND NEW SAW!!! I didn't even have to speak with anybody-JTB Commodities just sent it!!---It's like Christmas for me!!! Seriously--Over the TOP CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! Thank you so very much JTB Commodities-HIGHLY RECOMMEND BUYIING THEIR PRODUCTS AS THEY STAND BY THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE AND CUSTOMER SUPPORT!!! AWESOME!!! L.LisaPniewski
