Not Bad...Not Good
I'm not going to lie to you and say this ppv was 5 Star awesome, because it wasn't. What it was however, was a solid pay-per-view offering, and up until King of the Ring 2002, was definitely the best pay-per-view so far this year.Spike & Tazz vs the Dudleyz, Edge vs Regal, and Trish vs Jazz were all watchable, but nothing more than that. The RAW Match between the Dudleyz and Tazz and Spike, which saw Tazz and Spike win the Tag Straps in the first place was far better, but as an opener, it did it's job. Edge vs Regal, I preferred the Knucks on a Pole match, but this wasn't bad either.Behind the Rumble match itself, the best match of the night, in my opinion is the Flair vs McMahon Street Fight. It was bloody, it got the crowd involved, and it showcased Flair's ability, whilst covering Vince's faults. Great match! The Undisputed Title match between Rock and Jericho was a match I was looking forward to greatly following their epic matches at October's No Mercy 2001 and December's Vengeance 2001. However, this was definitely the worst of the three. Don't get me wrong, it was still a good match, but I thought that their No Mercy 2001 match was one of the best of the year, and this one was weaker in comparison. Then to the Rumble match itself, and unlike in previous years, viewers knew the 30 Entrants in the Rumble before the ppv even got underway (entrants and order can be seen on the back of the box). This eliminated the element of surprise that normally comes hand in hand with the Rumble, but this match was still both entertaining and action-packed.Highlights include the Hardy Boyz Return, Maven and the Undertaker, Steve Austin's arrival, Triple H's intense arrival...and The Hurricane! Also look out for my personal fave Rob Van Dam hitting the ring at Number 29...kinda too bad he didn't hang around long :(All in all, an "okay" ppv. One problem I've found with it is that for some reason, the music has been changed, which has a detrimental effect on the quality of the show. For instance Edge's Rob Zombie theme ('Never Gonna Stop') has been changed to Edge and Christians "You Think You Know Me" Theme. Tazz's Cypress Hill entrance music is changed to his old Volume 5 Music, the Undertaker has some wierd generic music instead of 'Rollin', RVD has his old theme rather than 'One of a Kind' - Breaking Point...even the theme of the event ('Cocky' - Kid Rock) has been changed too!For better Royal Rumble events, I recommend the Royal Rumbles 1999 (Mankind vs Rock - Iron Man Match), 2000 (HHH vs Cactus Jack - Street Fight) and 2001 (The Awesome Rumble Match itself). If you're looking for a top quality pay-per-view from start to finish, that's a tough call. I personally would go for Royal Rumble 2000, Wrestlemania 17, or No Mercy 2001...but maybe that's just because RVD's in the main event =D

a Great Rumble and the final one of the Attitude Era
this was a great Royal Rumble PPV as it not only had a great rumble full of surprises but also a great set of matches before it, a great tag title match between Taz & Spike vs the Dudley's to open and then a another great Regal/Edge matchup with a good Flair/Vince Ecounter and the final match in the Jericho vs Rock trilogy of matches. The rumble itself is great as previously mentioned plenty of shocks and legends making their return espically Mr Perfect who puts in a stellar performance which earns him a spot on the main roster as it does for several others who managed to impress and has most likely the most shocking elimination in Royal Rumble History! so overall a great PPV worst watching again and again.

WWF Royal Rumble 2002 :)
My review of WWF Royal Rumble 2002:Spike Dudley & Tazz vs Bubba & D Von Dudley: ***A quick entertaining opening tag team match for the WWF Tag Team Championship.William Regal vs Edge: ***A very competative match that was really personal, with the WWF Intercontinental Championship on the line.Jazz vs Trish Stratus w Jacqueline as Special Referee: **A pretty basic divas match for the WWF Womens Championship, which was steadily paced by both divas.Ric Flair vs Mr McMahon: ****Two co owners of the World Wrestling Federation, battle it out in an outstanding bloody street fight, which was entertaining all throughout. The Rock vs Chris Jericho: *****Outstanding and best match of the event goes to the WWF Undisputed Championship match between Chris Jericho and The Rock.Royal Rumble 2002 Match: *****I enjoyed every minute of this Royal Rumble match, featuring some of my favourites i.e. Triple H, Stone Cold, The Undertaker, Kurt Angle and more.

The Return of The Game
Wrestling had been in a slump coming in to this royal rumble.Thr royal rumble is designed to determine the number one contender for the championship and at this time it was fo the undisputed champonship, not like now where their is two belts. The week previous to this event HHH had just returned from a year long torn quad injury and announced his participation in the rumble along with Stone Cold, Kurt Angle, Kane, And Undertaker to name but a few this event had me of my feet in anticipation and excitement particularly when HHH music hits during the rumble with Austin in the ring awaiting him this was the best planned and delivered rumble the wwe has ever done and will become a classic

What?
A fantastic way to start off 2002, with the most exciting Royal Rumble match in recent years. A sterling job was done to mystify the eventual winner, as four favourites were tipped; Kurt Angle, The Undertaker, the returning Triple H and the fan favourite, Stone Cold Steve Austin. A perfect balance of comedy and amazing athleticism make this Royal Rumble match one to remember. This event was at the pinnacle of the "What?" era for Austin, who was enjoying tremendous form at the time. It was also Triple H's first pay-per-view appearance since his torn quad, and the debuting Maven of Tough Enough fame also caused quite a stirr. Aside from the Royal Rumble match itself, Edge and William Regal battle for the Intercontinental Championship in a decent encounter, and Ric Flair and Vince McMahon go at it in an entertaining street fight. But match of the card honours go to the Undisputed Championship match between the Rock and the defending Chris Jericho. This was the first time the strap was defended on pay-per-view, and this match of the year worthy effort maintained credibility in the prestigious Undisputed title, as both competitors gave their all in this cracking contest. My favourite event of 2002, Royal Rumble is well worth buying.
