I want MORE
Set against the backdrop of late 80's counter culture, a disillusioned teen recruited into an academy for assassins. Keeping his moral code while navigating a ruthless curriculum, vicious social cliques, and his own adolescent uncertainties may prove fatal. Excellent acting by the entire cast and so worth watching. Yes It has its violent moments but it is a school for assassins. This is a great show and i wish there were many more seasons but as always the good shows go off air and the garbage sticks around. Big recommendations.

A victim of tv show oversaturation.
This was a great show. If this show were released 10 years ago would be instant hit. But with so many excellent shows on cable and Netflix. You have to be good and lucky to be successful. I watched some old 1980's shows that were very popular at the time that don't hold up as well. It is getting to the point that I am hesitant to like a show because I don't want to get disappointed when they cancel it. The Passage is an example. But it is what it is. Get this DVD especially if you grew up in the 80's. It will be a blast albeit a short one.

This didnt belong on SyFy, who kept the tags on for a return
It was the comic book that brought me to the series, I had been reluctant to hedge on SyFy, having had my time ill spent prior, but at least they try and for the damn good effort & job done in its portryal, I give them the 5-stars for 1-season knowing it could be done and done well. I dont care to know their reasons for flaking on us, it just won't help their future offerings I might otherwise consider to watch but refuse the commitment to do so knowing they'll blow it just as the rest of us have gotten our groove on - no stamina

Fun and Beautiful To Watch
A fun and beautifully shot season. The soundtrack and aesthetic work done by the production crew is top notch. The acting is good and though a bit heavy with the tropes, the writing makes for a fun watch. You will require some suspension of disbelief and need to watch it through the lens of a graphic novel being adapted or plot and logic issues may bother you, but I thoroughly enjoyed the show.

Awesome and nostalgic!
This was a fantastic first season! As a goth teen from the 80’s, this show was incredibly nostalgic (with the exception that I did not attend assassin high school), from the clothes to the music and all of those details that one might not pick up if they weren’t there! Now, this is aSyFy series, but not a ridiculous one (although ZNation rules!). Plenty of violence and great actors. I can’t wait for the next season!

Love the show! It’s just the right amount of violence and plot building. 8/10

Strange and entertaining, cancelled far too soon
Yet another well made, entertaining, and unique underrated TV show cancelled by Syfy (R. I. P. Blood Drive). The story was slightly slow to start, but the content was easily exciting and strange enough to keep me around (i. e. "Hogwarts" for homicidal nut-job teenagers!?). I haven't read the graphic novels, haven't been able to find them actually, but I didn't feel that my enjoyment and comprehension of the story was compromised by my not having read them. The story and "plot twists" verged upon being predictable at times, but the characters were interesting and often well developed (or... eccentric and baroque). Although the plots were not identical in any way, and nor were the worlds, I was pleasantly reminded of AMC's "Into the Badlands".I greatly appreciated the darker sensibility and aesthetic used throughout the show: humor, music, fashion, mood etc. ...not to mention content. It wasn't so bleak as to be depressing, thankfully, and nor did it attempt to be. Despite the objectively dark theme, the main characters remained lovable and firmly "human" (i. e. not "evil" or psychopathic).

Pray for Netflix to pick up season 2!
Wish it had subtitles!
