One Silent Night: A Dark-Hunter Novel

It's a very good book. Hard to put it down.

As shared in other reviews, as an ultra sensitive empathic intuitive, having taught psychic/intuitive development and the Tarot, I am very much drawn to paranormal and urban fantasy books, not to live in a fantasy world, but to evolve my thinking that there is more going on in life, than what always meets the eyes to see.My husband works in a health food store and they have a book drop off. He happen to see book 18 "bad moon rising" and brought it home for me...I read the book, felt like something was there in terms of depth and storyline and I proceeded to get all of the books. Some are quick reads and some keep you at the edge of your seat. There are changes beginning to take place in our lives, and reading a paranormal or urban fantasy book, assists us in opening our minds to the idea that there is something more going on in life...so for those most interested in paranormal and urban fantasy, this is a nice series to add to your collection.

More like 4.5 stars...Intially, I was planning not to read this book because I couldn't stand the thought that Stryker offed his son (who he supposedly loved) for a reason that makes no sense. That was a turn-off for me. I love the idea of villains, but for me, that is a red line I wish he didn't cross. I don't mind him being the enemy who is after our favourite characters or even that he feeds off humans, but offing your son for a stup!d reason was a no-no. I was planning to look at spoilers to avoid reading, but I couldn't find a detailed one. I also saw reviews stating how important the events in this book were, so I eventually decided to read it. I went into this book with very low expectations, and I was very pleasantly surprised. I really enjoyed this book from beginning to end. I actually liked their love story. I get why stryker did what he did when he left her, and I also understand her anger all these centuries. I actually enjoyed their reunion and love story. I really did like this book a lot, and I am glad I ended up reading it.Yes, Zephyra is cruel and 'evil' like any villain, but at least she is not pretending to be anything else. She doesn't talk about honour blah blah blah like Stryker who offed his own son does....she atleast would do anything for the ppl she loved and yes I didn't like what she did to Jared but in her sick mind she is punishing him for his betrayal to his own family which reminded her of stryker's betrayal. Again, she is a Villian, and honestly, I LIKE HER even though I dont like her actions.As for stryker, I don't hate him or anything, but I don't like him either. I still cannot fathom his hypocrisy. He offed his son for something sooo minimal yet he wants to avenge his sister who he said betrayed him multiple times...There is also the part where he says he wasn't sure if he could hurt Zephyra...well he did hurt Urian...I obviously cannot get over that part and I will never get over it...I seriously wouldn't have cared if he destroyed all humans but his son who didn't do anything...just no..he's so like Apollo and it's a turn off. And yes, I know he regrets, and he acknowledges what I said about him, but I just can't get over it, and I don't think Urian should too.I know I keep mentioning this, but ever since reading Acheron, I've been wishing for a Savitar/Apollymi match... Please let this happen cause I really want Apollymi to find love

Have you ever read a series and by end of it you really hated the "bad guy"? You know the guy that always was causing trouble with everyone else? Well this book will blow you away. It will change the way you perceive the "bad guys" in stories. It gives you a new perception into him, and explains why he does what he does. Through the entire series that Sherrilyn writes the main character in this book, Stryker, is always doing terrible things. You come to hate him, he is the ultimate "bad guy". However, after you read this book, you will see a different side to him. You begin to relate to him, and to feel compassion towards him. I was even routing for him during part of the book. It is amazing how Sherrilyn can accomplish this feat. I Know that all current Dark-Hunter fans will read this book without question, it is what we do, but if you have never read a Hark-Hunter book, you can still enjoy this one. However be prepared to cheer for the wrong team while reading it.

Since this was the first time I have ever ordered on line, I was a little skeptical on what kind of condition my books would be in since I order the "used" version! The price, definitely was good, as these books are expensive in your bookstores, and I do only look for hardcover. I was very happy to say that since I just became a Sherrilyn Kenyon fan, since first reading "Acheron", when I bought it in Barnes and Noble, I am now hooked on her Dark Hunter Series. When I looked her books up on an on-line website, I was a little confused as to where to order from not to mention using my credit card on-line! But I choose Amazon, because I've heard that if you're going to order anything on-line, that Amazon is reputable. So there it is, and they were right. My books are in excellent condition, I received them in a timely manner and I'm a very happy customer!

A fantastic story by one of the greatest authors of our time. I loves Kenyon’s work and her ability to build our world into something wondrous.

As always an enjoyable read.

I absolutely love this series, there’s nothing like it written. Each book can be read as a stand alone but they’re SO much better reading them in order.

This was a purchase for someone and I have never read it, but it arrived on time and was at a good price so I don't want the sellers to loose out on a good rating for something I have not read, although the person who has, loves it!

Awesome book. I always enjoy this author and have most of her books. I would recommend to anyone!!!
