Just cause it's marine, doesn't mean it has to be expensive!
Lightweight, great for trimming a couple pounds off the boat. Did not come with any instructions, but was able to find some wiring guides online. Took 5 minutes to wire and bolt up. No problems turning the motor over. Good packaging. It'll be some time before I put the starter to weekly use, I'll update accordingly if necessary.Application: 1987 5.0 Mercruiser 200Update: 1/22/2015So far so good, this starter has not let me down!

i installed this starter and it worked great when i tested the boat {bayliner 2452} on land ...
i installed this starter and it worked great when i tested the boat {bayliner 2452} on land took it in the water and it spins but will not engage,it takes hours to install a new starter on this boat ,so pissed i won't even tell rare electrical cuz im afraid i would make the person on the other end cry.its a peice of crap after testing all other possible problems it is the starter sylonoid on the starter itself.junk

WRONG PART WONT FIT GM 305/350 5.0L /5.7L V8 MERCRUISER
DID NOT FIT MY 1990 GM 305/350 / 5.0/5.7 LX V8 MERCRUISER BOLTS ON DOES NOT LINE UP WITH GEARS ON OUTSIDE OF FLYWHEEL OFFSET OVER 3/4'' AWAY NO WAY IT WOULD TURN OVER ENGINE NEED 3 1/4'' DIA END CAP ON STARTER THIS ONE HAS ONLY 2 7/8'' END CAP NOT KNOWING THIS INFO B4 HAND JUST SEEN IT WOULD FIT MY BOAT GM MOTOR 5.0 AND 1990 AFTER HAVING IT INSTALLED IT WAS A SURPRISE FOUND OUT AFTER TURNING KEY WHILE AT BOAT DOCK THIS WAS NOT CORRECT PART FOR MY BOAT
