Wow. Just Wow.
I never really thought thrice about sanding products. I have my favorites and I buy the ones that fit my sander. I do like to buy quality ones so I have actually thought twice about them. I never considered sanding as a technology though. These opened my eyes. I first read bout them when trying to find different painting methods of all things. They looked so cool, I had to try them. First, I don't have a Mirka sander with a pad with a hundred holes, just a regular old deWalt. I had read that because the hook and loop on the sander pad can stick through the Abranet discs and wear a lot faster to the point of becoming non-functional. To that end, I purchased a Mirka pad protector as well. So, I attached the pad protector and then an Abranet pad just to get started. I also attached my sander to my dust vac. I have done this before, and while the vacuum does get up quite a bit of dust, there is still a lot that gets away. Well, I am pleased and quite amazed to say that this didn't happen with the Abranet discs. The air around the project was as if I hadn't even been sanding. For kicks, I used an 80 grit disc on a desk that I had gotten off Freecycle. Nice desk, but it had about 4 unruly coats of paint of it. Usually, I would use a paint stripper for this, but I tried the 80. It stripped that paint off quite easily. It took tike, but the great part about it was there was no clogging. The disc remained at 80 grit throughout. In using them, they do seem durable and seem to last longer than regular sanding discs. The durability translated to a time savings as well as I didn't have to stop and check the grit of the disc and change it out like I would with regular sanding discs. About the only thing that is a negative is the cost. They seem to be about twice as much as a regular disc. I haven't calculated the time savings and the durability though, so this may be a push. I would definitely recommend them. I am placing this review in the 220, 150 and 80 grit discs products as those are what I have used so far.

Truly unique and superior abrasive!
Woodworkers universally hate sanding, the necessary evil of all fine finishing. These marvelous abrasives help us through that phase in several ways. ONE--- They are FAR easier to attach to ANY sander. Why? Because you do not need to align those little holes for optimum dust-removal. The "net" part of "abra-net" allows dust to flow everywhere over the surface and into to sander, then to your shop vac. Sanding is FAR easier with RO sanders and FAR better still when we use a vacuum. But carefully aligning those suction holes is a time-wasting hassle! AbraNET solves that. These stick on instantly and always work no matter how they are aligned. TWO--- this assortment has all the grits up to 600. That, combined with the rapid change-out afforded by the mesh pads, makes stepping through the grits MUCH faster and easier. It depends on the amount of sanding and material, but I estimate I saved at least 30% of my sanding time with these. Combine that with more efficient dust collection and you save even more time in clean up. THREE--- because these abrasives allow more air to flow everywhere on their surface, the abrasive stays COOLER, and THAT prevents corning. Corning (when little chunks of melted finish stick to your sandpaper) is the bane of RO sanding. Anything that reduces corning is a major step forward. So far, I can only find one flaw with this product, and it is a small one that is easily avoided. When sanding rough raw wood, the mesh can grab splinters on the edges of boards. That can tear off a little bit of the edge, which in turn, leaves a bump in the pad that will make swirl marks. I solve this in two ways... First, DON"T SAND THE EDGES OF RAW WOOD. Seems simple enough, but since I had not used these before, I was not aware of that. Now you are informed and hopefully will not make that mistake. Second, If you do get careless and the "net" catches on an edge. It is easy to snip off the offending bump with scissors, then carry on without further problems. Other than that, i can't find anything wrong with this stuff. It is my new favorite sanding abrasive. Even if it is slightly more expensive than some, that cost is quickly recouped in time and labor savings. And that 600 grit finish on end grain is so smooth, you'll weep at how easy it was to get. For those of you who do not yet know, we always need to finish end-grain to a higher grit than face-grain to allow a more even absorption of finish. That prevents the uneven "dark" ends on table tops, solid-body guitars or any other thing made with solid wood. If you haven't tried that before, please do so after reading this. If you normally finish to 220, then take the ends up to 320. I take some woods up to 400, so I took end-grain up to 600 with these. The results are totally worth the extra minute of work. That tip actually SAVES time later in the finishing process.

Sanding pleasure
Very good way above average abrasives. I use mostly Abranet products to do all my sanding even the very fine grits have a bite to them you can tell you are doing something. All the grits are agressive but don't do damage to the surface at all. When I get my veneered panels down to a final 600 grit to knock of any last dust dingle-berries the surface so smooth you would thing it had had hours of hand rubbing. And after a few coats of premium paste wax Wow... Bottom line: These abrasives work very well, last a long time, as they are a mesh the dust removal through my sander is almost total. What does get clogged in the pad just remove it from the hook and loop and shake it out and good as new. I don't even care if these are expensive they work better than anything I have ever used and if you go up through the grits systematically as you should they last a very long time compared to generic sandpaper. I'm sold on the quality of this product I recommend it for both hand sanding and power sanding both are exceptional.

Wish they were more durable
They sand very nice, however, the net snagged a splinter and shredded the disc. I just wish they were a bit more durable for the price. I think these are better for the final stages of sanding, so you don't have to worry about this type of thing. I had great results on sepele though.

Outstanding Sandpaper
If you've never used Abranet, give it a try. I was amazed. It seems expensive to buy up front, but these last a long, long time. If you connect a dust collection hose to your sander, you'll have virtually no sanding dust in the air. And since it's net all over, it doesn't matter what hole pattern your sander has.
