Use the reverse vacuum cleaner as a blower to remove items from fans

It could make a difference if the laptop has air intake grille on the bottom (some laptops use a different technology). Note, that the fans are not movable in any direction, so it might be wise to consider a model, where you can regulate the exact position of the fan, so it is enhancing the airflow to the laptop.

Q: Will it work for acer nitro 5?

It will work for any laptop as long as the size is within the size of the cooling pad - the connector wire is universal too - I use it on Dell and on Apple Air; one is 17 dig and the other 21 - These cooling pads are the best thing - invented for gamers but fantastic for anyone working on laptop all day/everyday - the angle makes it comfortable for typing and the fans extends battery & laptop life - hope it helps
