Heavy Duty 1/32-5/8" Drill Press Chuck Keyless JT3 Mount + JT3-2MT Tanged Arbor

This unit replaced a keyed chuck on a heavy 17" drill press. It tested out with very minimal runout (approximately .002") and clamps all bits I have tried very well. Finish is very good, and the tapers on both the chuck and the arbor. Excellent value.

Bought this chuck to replace the worn-out keyed one in my drill press. The runout was .004 TIR checked after assembly with a dowel pin gripped in chuck, good enough for my purposes. The chuck grips drill bit well and does not slip, the craftsmanship is good. Really like not having to fumble with a key to change bits.

Used this knock off Albrecht type chuck to replace knock off Jacobs type chuck that came with a very old drill press. Reduced run out from wobbly to imperceptible. Very satisfied for general wood and metal work. Did not use the adapter. Jaws in the chuck are a bit loose until given something to grip, but once a decent bit is loaded into this chuck, the tip run out is acceptable for the work done using this machine. I use a real Albrecht or Jacobs chuck in lathe or mill where better accuracy is needed, but for utility work and a quick set up, this chuck has worked well. I am very satisfied for the price.

I wanted a keyless chuck for my new Rikon drill press and this one works exactly as expected: easy opening and closing by hand, no sign of slippage with just hand tightening, and no significant runout. I'd recommend it.
