So far, so good! After much online research and comparison I am glad I bought this set!
I just received this set a few days ago and am happy with the quality of the trays, inserts and covers. I can easily pick them up and feel the sturdiness of the product which is nice knowing that I will receive longer life from them than others I have ordered in the past. I opted for the 5 tray set thinking it would be a good quantity to start out with and see how well the set works for my needs. I like that once I have finished with the seedlings that I can easily clean up the set and easily store it one piece on top of the other for safe keeping and saving space. The set up is simple to do by adding water to tray, seed starting medium to the inserts and using the dibber to help punch holes as needed. I bought some brightly multi colored seed "T" labels that fit well inside the trays while the lid is on. In just a few days I noticed I already have a seedling popping out! I am looking forward to trying the widger tool to remove the seedling and transplant it safely once it is big enough. I like the height of the lids and the option of opening or closing the vents to maintain the level of moisture needed. So far, so good! After much online research and comparison I am glad I bought this set!

Durable, easy to use, works
I love the vented tops. The plastic is not rigid but sturdy enough that it is holding up to being moved around (and I stack them at night due to space). The lids are designed to sit gently on top not to click in place; this is by design. The last thing you want is to try and pry a lid off and risk disturbing the soil/seeds so it is nice that the lids don't grab. The lids help maintain humidity, warmth, and air control. I also appreciate that it comes with the solid bottom watering trays- great for catching drips. I used a silver marker to write the plant type and sow date directly on the edges of the tray. I bought the 5 pack and planted multiple vegetable seeds on 01/22/23; As of 02/05/2023 I already have kale (2 types), spinach, lettuce (several varieties), cauliflower, and lavender sprouted! Initially I kept these in the garage and put them out in the sun during the day (in the 40's). I'm in zone 8. However, we just got through several days of an ice storm. I moved the seed trays inside and used an old tube light on them (it wasn't a grow light but enough to keep them doing well for 3 days). I was able to move the trays back outside in the sun today (tops off); they will go back in the garage tonight since temps are back in 40's (with tops on). I did not use heat pads rather I used warm (not hot) water to spray my seeds when watering. Do some youtube videos on how to use seed trays/covers and start seeds- glad I did. I would def. buy these again. FYI, I have 2 different types of trays you see in my pics the smaller ones do not have vents and I don't like that (got them elsewhere). You do not see the vented dome on my trays outside (the large ones) because the seeds are all sprouted and the tops need to be off because they need the sun now. The stacked boxes show how I keep them at night in the garage. Last pic shows seed sprouts starting.

Great for seed starting, but a little too flimsy for bottom watering
This year I'm growing Carolina Reapers, ghost peppers, habaneros, Scotch Bonnets, Tabasco peppers, Thai chili peppers, Serrano peppers, jalapeños, and cayenne peppers, along with beefsteak tomatoes, Roma tomatoes, kale, Swiss chard, mustard greens, and a number of other herbs and veggies. Needless to say, that's a lot of seeds and I needed a lot of containers to plant them in. This set of 5 trays with 40 cells each (8x5) was exactly what I needed. The humidity domes are a must for keeping the soil in those small cells from drying out, especially if you're using a heating pad like I am (a must for hot peppers). When put together, they're fairly sturdy, but a word of warning: the bottom tray alone is fairly flimsy when filled with water. This isn't really an ideal setup for bottom watering and I'd look elsewhere if you're planning on doing that. The top tray will simply float on top of the water, and if you try to weigh it down -- well, it's catastrophic. The soil flooded and became completely waterlogged in my case. Maybe it's just user error? Overall a great buy for seed starting. Very easy to use and they look awesome :)

🌱Gardzen 5-Set Seed Starter Tray Kits Review🌱
Ladies and gentlemen, gather 'round and allow me to regale you with the tale of the Gardzen 5-Set Seed Starter Tray Kits. If Ryan Reynolds were to review a seed starter tray, this is exactly how it would go down. First off, let’s talk about the 40-cell tray. Forty cells. That's like having 40 little greenhouses, each with the potential to grow your very own miniature forest. Move over, Johnny Appleseed, there's a new planter in town, and they come with domes and bases. DOMES AND BASES, PEOPLE! These trays are so sturdy that if I were a plant, I’d feel like I’m living in the Ritz-Carlton of soil-based accommodations. With these trays, even your seeds will sprout faster than a Marvel movie marathon. And the domes? Oh, the domes. They’re like little glass ceilings, but ones you can actually break through. They create the perfect climate for your tiny green buddies, making them feel all warm and cozy, like they’re being hugged by Mother Nature herself. 🌞 As for the base, it’s the unsung hero of the gardening world. It’s the Batman to your Robin, the Chewbacca to your Han Solo. It keeps everything together, ensuring no water spills onto your brand new gardening apron. You know the one with the cute little pockets and “I Dig Gardening” slogan? Yeah, that one stays dry, thanks to the base. Planting with these trays is so easy, even Deadpool could do it between wisecracks and fourth-wall breaks. Just fill, plant, cover, and voilà! You’re now a proud parent of 40 plant babies.

I found that a lot of products didn't have the dome, the tray and the cells sold as a unit. It was hard for me to find the perfect setup. This has all three and it comes with two little planting tools for your seedlings.

Great domes only dislike is the cover isn’t as high as I thought but they will work to get my flowers started and seeds ready for the garden
