Good value for the price.
Being my first whetstone I can't make any comparisons to other similar stones. I've been using diamond stones for years, and the last couple of years, the work sharp guided sharpening system. It only goes up to 800 grit, and I had been using 1500/2000 grit wet/dry sandpaper beyond that.It seems to be of relatively good quality, but there is definitely a learning curve, and it will take some practice. I watched several YT vids in the process. One thing I will point out is that in some of the videos, they said you needed to soak Japanese style stones for twelve plus hours, and some said for 10-30 minutes, especially for the higher grit because it can crack. The instructions say ten to fifteen minutes, or until there are no more bubbles, so that is what I did, and didn't have any problems. It does soak up the water quickly, so you do need to keep putting water on the stone. All in all, IMO, it's a good value for the price.

Nice sharpening set up.
The stone with dual grit (1000/6000) I’d excellent. Base and accessories are fine. The little jig that holds the blade leaves quite a bit to be desired. Other than that it a great set up!

Great product
I bought two stones from a Japanese shop, spent more than 80 dollars, and was cumbersome. In comparison, it was convenient. I only needed this whetstone, and there was a base and a bag. This is a very Cheap, the whetstone quality is very good, I am very sharp on my knife, so this is a great product

easy do it yourself tool
I bought this item because I have a set of J.A. Henckels int. knives. I purchased them over 15 years ago, and have never sharpened them. I only use the honing rod that comes with the set. They have finally come to a point where they need to be sharpened professionally. The only problem is a pro. wants $7.00 - $10.00 a knife witch comes to around $ 100.00. I bought the stone set for under $35.00. I spent twenty minutes sharpening them to almost the sharpness as when they were new. I will definitely recommend this item to my friend and family.

Great sharpening stones.
Easy to use. The stone comes with a base that is useful. Tried on a couple of knives and it worked as expected. Pricing is good too.

This is an excellent way to get everything you need for basic whetstone knife sharpening at a reasonable price. Nothing was broken, and everything came as described.

sharping stone
not as what I expected, grit 1000 just like 500,and 6000 same like around 3000.maybe that s why it is not expensive,so I give this 3 stars.
