I use this product when I have acute pain flares caused by C6/T5 vertebral bone spurs ("pinched nerves" usually from lifting causing a slight dislocation "kink" in my spine). The pain immobilizes me. I used to buy the ground root and take it by the tablespoon chased with water or make a tea ( who wants to make tea when you can't hardly stand or walk from pain?), but I found that after taking this (much easier to take) concentrated product it much more efficient at pain reduction, muscles relaxation, and curbing mental aggravation enough to "be calm yet alert enough to get up again" and do the stretches, yoga, walk around, get in the tub, or get into my traction device (what ever it takes - I can do it by myself with the help of a pain reliever), so I can straighten the "kink" that caused flare. Longwinded, I know...but I held off awhile to test this and have a lot to say about it. I won't take opiods or most NSAIDs. Prefer herbal or homeopathic first. I even used this for pain after dental work. Limited to acute only because it seems to cause a minor irritation to my sinuses (red eyes, itchy nose, sneeze, scratchy throat, if I use it for several days ( as when I first tested it ), that side effect went away as soon as I quit and is not enough to deter me from using it for these occasional bouts of acute pain. I always have a jar of this in my med cabinet . Thanks for providing this product!

was fairly disappointed. Doesn't really work well, but I think that might just be the case with all extracts. Will probably just stick to the drink

I feel i was robbed. I gave you money for a product that did absolutely nothing! Nearly sixty dollars with shipping! I have had amazing Kava paste that was half of the price of this. Perhaps pull it off of the shelves and learn how to make it correct! I have very little money! Do not buy this product!!!!!! You are better off buying lose Kava and making your own extract! You will have more of the product, you wont spend as much and most importantly wont end up feeling like you have been road and put away wet!

Arrived with the lid and "sealed for your protection" seal both off. I figured no big deal because the sealed plastic bag was fully intact. I opened it up and found that the contents were rock hard.

Update April 18, 2017: I first used Kava 55% paste 3 years ago. The product quality has been consistent: I use 1/8 tsp. before dinner and another 1/8 tsp at bedtime if needed.Original Review on September 26, 2015: Every few years I have times of stress along with insomnia and mild depression. I find two doses of kava kava daily works better than previously prescribed antidepressants or relaxants such as zoloft or paxil. There does seem to be a reverse tolerance, where after 2 weeks you can actually decrease the dosage slightly rather than increasing as was needed with the prescribed meds. Like another reviewer mentioned, the easiest way to take this extract is to put each dose in an empty capsule. 1/8 tsp. will fit in any large sized capsule; I've used size '0' and size '00'. I just can't drink it in a tea...the taste is horrendous. This 55% kava paste is far more effective than other brands of pre packaged kava capsules I purchased from other vendors.My personal experience has been that kava has less side effects than prescription antidepressants. I did have some mild stomach upset the first week, which passed. Taking the normal dose doesn't effect my coordination or ability to drive. I recommend trying it at home the first few times to be sure you know how it effects you prior to driving or operating machinery...in other words, use the same common sense precautions you would with any medication that may cause drowsiness.

Good stuff! I use 00 capsules and it fits the amount perfectly. Since its a paste I can get it into a capsule much easier. The effects are quite amazing no stress for sure, reverse tolerance is insane too! I could compare this to a Benzo but WAY Better! Clear Head, not disabling, can function perfectly fine if not better on this stuff. Great Natural Remedy! 96 Dosages! I can only see myself taking 1 a day and im 270 LB's.

Highly recommended! I've tried several kava products and the Kona Kava 55% Kavalactone is by far the best! 1 small scoop under the tongue helps calm anxiety within minutes. Even though the product is a little costly up front, you take such a small dose (pea size). I take it as needed, usually once per week, and the jar lasts me about 3-6 months. It's small and convenient for carrying in a purse or briefcase. I always have mine within reach!

Kona Kava has helped my husband with anxiety and panic attacks. I am forever grateful for the changes I have noticed. Overall, he seems calmer with handing daily activities. He is sleeping more sound. Sometimes his job requires driving distance and it doesn't bother him nearly as much as it did before taking the Kava lactone.Thank you KV Naturals!
