Just what I've been looking for
It's very hard to find all cotton socks with no elastic--these are great; there is a sort of binding cotton thread at the cuff to hold their shape instead of an elastic. The knit is very stretchy (not in a sloppy, saggy way), so I can use one pair as a base layer under two pairs of wool socks, and another pair the same size over the top of all three other pairs. Yes, excessive sock-wearing, but my chillblains are now happy. I'm a women's size 7.5 US shoe, and the small fits me perfectly. I think there is a polyester thread to hold the toe seam together, but it's pretty minimal, and that's standard on everything nowadays (100% cotton shirts have poly thread, so do pants, etc. and the 100% cotton label only addresses the fabric material, not thread for some reason, so it's not false advertising; people often just don't understand what common labelling actually labels). The seam is comfortable and doesn't rub your toes wrong. Excellent socks!

Unhappy episode
Buy on Amazon a lot. Ordered a set of 2 prs of socks to try. Picked out black. Remember checking sizes--in this case my men's size 9 translates to a medium as usual, but I did check their sizing. Printed out invoice. Received the usual order confirmation, then the shipping confirmation. Socks arrived way too small. Package does have a sticker "Size S" in small print. Reviewing the webpage I see that size small is the default, so I probably actually ordered the wrong size. BUT... Neither the "order details" page on Amazon, nor the order confirmation, nor the shipping confirmation even mention a size (although the latter 2 suggest other items I might want to order), and even the order invoice only gives me a "Cottonique Men's Elite Elastic-Free Organic Cotton Socks - 2 Pack M27730 S Black." Note the prominent capital M (did I see a "medium" there?) and that sneaky "S" at the end. Can you spell "small?" Believe it or not, the packing slip says "Cottonique M27730: B." That's it for "description." "B" for black? Can we spell "black?" And size not specified at all on the shipping label, consistent with this firm's ignoring the importance of FIT. Remember that word? Fit? Kind of important in the garment industry. How about prominently displaying factors like the color and the size of the goods throughout the ordering process? Now I can return my $10 of socks, paying over $5 return shipping and bringing the goods to the shipper in the middle of the Covid thing. No, not going to happen. Probably my mistake at the outset, but ordering this item was a setup to fail. Not a good experience. Two stars instead of 1 because the socks otherwise look good.ADDENDUM: Ordered 2 pair Medium--too small for my men's size 9 feet. Now have 8 pairs of Large--just barely fit; on the tight side and just marginally larger than Medium but OK. I confirm my impression that the socks are well-made and latex-free (hooray!). Have to agree with Debbie Gray (June 18) that "sizes are way off." As for Ed2186 who answered the 3rd question "I have a size 11 shoe and I fit with room to spare in a Medium Sock. So I hope that helps," he must be talking about a different product so caveat emptor. So we are all on the same page, this page pertains to Cottonique Men's Elite Elastic-Free Organic Cotton Socks - 2 Pack M27730. I won't retract the 2 stars for the "unhappy episode" in my title, but I will say that this product deserves 4 stars. I can't give it 5 stars solely because of the size issue. Pun intended.

Perfect.
Large was a perfectly snug fit on my 9 wide foot. They didn't sag or bunch up. My feet love them and the zero latex. No more red burning feet.

Very comfortable
I am thrilled to find this item on Amazon. I have been looking, for quite some time, for a pair of organic socks to wear to bed at night. I like to apply lotion or some type of light oil to my feet during the late Autumn/winter months before going to bed at night. When I wake up in the morning and take the socks off, my feet are soft and moisturized. I am trying to wear as much organic cotton on my skin as possible, and these socks certainly fit the bill for me.

Itchy ankles are a thing of the past.
Never knew I had an allergy to the crap they put in socks to hold them up. Every day for 40+ years I've had itchy ankles after taking off my socks. With these, no itch. The socks also seem to be holding up well to my busy life. Comfortable. Bought more already, replacing all my old socks with these.

Shrink a whole size, painful seams
These new ones shrink a whole size in the dryer, and are stretchier. So, I bought a larger size. But the worst part is the seams are so much bulkier and more painful than the old design. They hurt so much I cannot wear them. Please go back to the old style! I have now wasted $40 on 2 pairs that I cannot wear. These were the only socks I could wear due to dermatitis/ latex allergy. Now I can't wear these either.

Not as pictured
The photo shows them to be a crew length. The actual sock I got was too short in foot length (8") and the calf length too long (9").I like the cotton material, but the cut of the pattern was a bit weird. They did stay up on my leg without any elastic, so that is good.

Worth it
It's nice knowing my socks are 100% cotton. And they feel great. Somehow, these are more affordable than buying direct from Cottonique.
