Fantastic just as I remember from childhood (why change what already works) nephew loves it need to get more so he can make his own thing not just the models on the box

Bought for my great-nephew for Christmas. He is 6 and loves making things. Good choice as this is his first K'nex kit - he was delighted as they have K'nex in school.

At first glance I was a little disappointed with this set - It appears to contain a measly amount of pieces and more than half of them are very small rings or connectors. The box advertises 10 different models but for 5 of them – including the vehicle pictured on the box – you have to go online to get the instructions. The structures you can create are strange looking things – flattened and alien – this is explained by giving them names like 'future bike' or 'alien quadcopter', they don't have to resemble anything real. If you want a model to look great it has to be Lego. K'nex is different – perhaps a little more technical, it takes a different sort of planning to create a model. And it is never going to look as good.So I had my doubts but at 43 years old I am hardly the target audience. My kids (10 and 7) loved it. They found the models easy to build and really enjoyed the process. The didn't care that the 'cat' model looked like a really bad 2D drawing of a cat rather than an actual cat. This set got a big thumbs up from them.

Great fun for the LO, she loves the easy to follow instructions.

Bought for 5 year old Grandson and I am told he was able to assemble it with a bit of help and it will be compatible with other items he is going to get. Pleased with purchase

Great value for money- turned up next day and will make a great add on present for my six year old

I bought this product for a gift to a children's charity. For kids in hospital. The child loved it and said it was better than Lego. Fabulous

A good inexpensive set for those short breaks away from school.Suited it says, from age 5-10. Though I think perhaps a very mature five year may be able to do some of the ten builds with help. A Six Plus age group is more appropriate.Good quality strong plastic pieces. 130 in total. Though 68 of these are very small connector parts - more than half.The builds, therefore, will not be very big and more suited to children aged upto 8 in my opinion for two reasons..My son is ten. This set doesn't interest him, he says it's too simple and small for him - he's more into large Lego Technic and Lego Architecture sets.The instructions for the ten builds are rather strangely for this age group, spread across a large A2-ish sized poster.The young ages would have found simple page by page clearly laid out instructions in the form of a booklet easier to digest.That said it is a good STEM set if you can put up with the confusing instructions. Four stars, as its priced perfectly at under £8.3 stars, if it was priced any higher.
