For this first time the timeless original classic film and its 1995 sequel are paired together in this special 2DVD collection To Sir with Love (1967) is a timeless Sixties classic movie about an earnest teacher (the exceptional Sidney Poitier) who takes up a position in a tough school in London's East End, To Sir, With Love (1967) was adapted (from the book by E.R. Braithwaite) by best-selling novelist James Clavell (Shogun), who also produced and directed. Featuring lively appearances by Judy Geeson, Suzy Kendall, and Lulu, who sings the smash-hit title song. To Sir With Love II (1995) Sidney Poitier returns as teacher Mark Thackeray in this sequel to the 1967 classic. This time round Thackeray has swapped the streets of London for those of down-town Chicago, faced with the challenge of convincing hardened gang members that there is an alternative to street violence. As he struggles to instill respect and understanding in his students, he also pursues his first love; a woman he knew thirty years ago when he was a young man in Guyana.

Sentimental.
Based on a true story. However the author thought it was terrible because it was too saxribe and missed out on the love story part. But for 1965 the love story would've been a hard sell to the public. Part one was cool and interesting. Part two was ok. A bit predictable. Perfect for a sentimental soul. Not so for cynical folk.

My favorite actor
During his career Sydney Poitier played the part of a London teacher. He succeeded where his professional colleagues failed.

I will never get tired of watching these 2 movies. Both are great, but the first one will always be my favorite.
