Great text
I had been looking for a great and easy to comprehend book on nutrition for a while. Understanding Nutrition ended up as the textbook required for my course in nutrition. Excellent and easy to comprehend textbook for the "non-scientific" student of nutrition. Chapters are about 25 pages long, with definitions for important words and concepts given in margins. A short "review it" of each section highlights concepts, and "study it" and "test it" pages for each chapter are at the end of the book to reinforce knowledge. Really happy with it.

College Nutrition
This review is based purely on the fact that the condition is excellent, especially for the rental price. It would have cost me over $100 to rent this book from my college, and the condition would have been deplorable.Other than that, this is a text book required for my nutrition class that I ordered the weekend before classes started. Thank god for two day shipping, because I got it just in time to show up to my AM class.

Kindle version Is just like the hardcopy
I rented the Kindle edition and I am using this book for my nutrition class as part of the curriculum of addiction counseling. But it has so many interesting things that I am planing to buy it. I also have the hardcopy of this book which when finish with it I am planing to sell back. Is a very heavy book. Both books are with identical text up to now. But I prefer the Kindle edition because of the price and the ability of zooming for better reading. Unfortunate is not audiobook, like my others books on my Kindle.By reading this book, I finally understand why I gain so much weight and has been impossible to lose it no matter what I do. Now I see foods differently and when I go to do my grocery I do smart shopping by selecting nutrient value foods.Very good Book

Good book, all though I didn't have to use ...
Required for my college nutrition course. Good book, all though I didn't have to use it much so I am glad I rented it instead of purchasing. Good visual aids and clear descriptive information. I would recommend renting over buying due to the fact that this is a subject that is rapidly changing so some of the contained information could go out of date pretty quickly. Book was in good condition for rental, gently used but no writing or highlighting.

Used for a class, was very informative
A great text for anything nutrition. The author does an amazing job explaining the science of nutrition, and has really opened my eyes to a lot of the falsities most americians think are nutritional facts, like needing to take vitamin supplements. My only complaint was the cost of the book, but that is a general complaint that I have with all text books.

Much cheaper than the school's bookstore
It's the required material for my nutrition class. The copy I bought was new, and about $70 less than what the school's bookstore was asking for. Buying used from the bookstore would cost $15 more, so I decided to buy a new book through Amazon. It arrived in great condition, shrink-wrapped and ready to go. I recommend searching dealoz.com first.

convenience vs. inconvenience
This is my first digital college textbook. It is not the cheaper option but I wanted to try out the eBook option to see how I liked it. As a student, this book is a necessity.Pros: It is easier to carry vs. a huge college text book. You can also search specific topic or words to help you find something vs. flipping through trying to find where you read something. This also comes in handy with homework and the sort. Since it is on my kindle device I can carry it with me and read any where or any time I get the chance.Cons: I can only view it on one kindle device I initially chose my 6" which is a pain sometimes. I would like to be able to view on my other tablets and on my desktop at times. Be mindful of this when purchasing. You can not pull it up on all of your devices like other books. Also, I didn't like that the rental time wasn't the full semester I had to lengthen it and I don't get how you can pay more for more time but you can't choose to pay less for less time. I had this issue with another book that I chose not to rent because I had to rent for the full time and could not rent for just one month. It should be available to rent for whatever time you'd like. Luckily I had my schedule including final exam date available for Nutrition. I have classes I still don't have a final exam test date set up which would be a problem if I was choosing a Date for e-book and let it run out.Update: It has come in handy to have the e-book. Its nice to be able to catch up on reading anywhere but still frustrating to have it only available on one device and not on my others that I have Kindle on. Ugh. Right now my device went dead and I have my laptop here in the school library but can't access my book. Yes it is a pain. I didn't forget my book, it is right here, but i can not open it. Tip: Carry a charger.

I had to read it for a prerequisite class, but ended up really valuing the information in general
I had to read every page of this for an online course I took. I found the information more helpful than I anticipated, especially now that I'm anemic and I understand the mechanisms of iron absorption much better.
