I'm new to 3rd gen 4runners. I was happy that the 3rd gen 4runner headlights are glass and not cheap plastic. The big problem with glass headlights is they are more prone to rock chips and cracks. Both of mine after 240k miles had bad rock chips, allowing dirt and moisture into the assembly. (Giving dull yellow output)There is a trick with a heat gun allowing removal the glass, to clean and repair the glass... However its time consuming. Who has time for that?? I needed a cheap and fast fix to my poor light output. I work 70 hrs a week, needed as little down time as possible.HELLO DEPO LIGHT ASSEMBLIES!These were a perfect fit for my 4runner. I think these other fellas with fitment issues may have had body work done, or may have issue related to mis-alignment body panels? Mine went on perfectly!These assemblies installed in 20 min per side, without any issues. I was suprized to see these came included with bulbs. That saved me 11 bucks per side right there! I have not yet tweeked the aim, but these almost came perfectly aimed out of the box. So I will see if anyone "flashes me" Oh, speaking of box... These came double boxed with foam padding. Looks like I will be buying more Depot products. In this day and age of Chinesium made junk, its nice to see "made in Taiwan" for a change. Bear in mind these assemblies are plastic, Toyota factory is all metal. Thats why there is a massive price differance. IMHO these plastic ones are just as good as the metal ones. I kinda like the light pattern over the metal ones.Tools needed...10mm socket with 6" extention.Phillips driver to remove side markerStubby 10mm wratchet wrench( to adjust aim nut).2-3 cold beers!Update... Well, I got flashed! Found some nice level ground and figured out how to set the aim. The bottom adjuster nut (turned clockwise) will lower the beam... Top adjuster is for side to side. I still have some side to side tweeking to do, but at least Im not blinding people anymore.Oh, the adjuster nuts are soooooft! I used a 10mm ratching wrench, and felt it slipping when I went too fast. (Food for thought) If you have the old factory housing, rob the plastic nut off of it. Toyota did plastic better than anyone else back in the day. Use it instead of the cheap one that comes on the Depo. Otherwise, at $40 bucks each side, I got a heck of a deal. 👍

I can verify Amazon sent me DEPO which are made in Taiwan. DEPO is one of Taiwan top 20 global brands. Quality is less than factory in that factory headlight assembly weighs 5.2 lbs and DEPO headlight assembly weighs 4.6 lbs (digital bathroom scale). I was able to properly adjust the headlights without issue. The headlight assemblies out of the box are at the outward stops on both adjusters. The units came with two different bulbs, Philips 9003 LL HB2 H4 bulb and a OSRAM HB2 9003 Made in Germany bulbs. For the price, the DEPO are a get fit on my 2001 4Runner SR5. I was using the most expensive bulbs (SYLVANIA 9003/H4 SilverStar Ultra Halogen Headlight Bulb and other) with my factory headlight assemblies. The bulbs ($35) wouldn't last that long and light output wasn't great thru the glass. I tried cleaning the glass. I get better output with the standard bulbs using the DEPO assemblies. Also the pictures don't capture how clear the glass is.

Ordered the both left and right headlamp assembly for my 1997 4Runner. Pretty easy to install once grill is removed. I gave it 4 stars because the driver side didn't fit that well (low) and not aligned so causes the side marker light to not be aligned as well. Also, had to aim it much different than the passenger side so the light sticks out a bit. I'm sure I can mess with it some more and make it better. I'd say the light output is better than the 1997 style lenses. It does seem to scatter light a bit. But for $45 for the enhanced appearance and somewhat better light output I'd say it's a good deal. Just beware if the assemblies don't fit perfect like OEM.

I got one of these after a drive in the country when a buzzard flew into my car and broke the OEM headlight. Those birds can do some damage. It cracked the mounting bracket and broke the adjustment mechanisms.After a lot of time researching for the proper headlight assembly and calling salvage yards and repair shops, I found this one to be the best deal. After receiving it, I also found it is a very good quality item. It is not 100% as good of quality at the OEM assembly, but 97% of the way there and a quarter of the cost while on sale.Installation was fairly easy. It comes with all the parts you need, including the bulb, head lamp, adjusting frame, and the electrical connection boot that installs to the back of the lamp.Adjusting the beam direction was simple by just using a Philips #2 screw driver. All you do is insert the screwdriver into the adjustment hole and rotate. This is much simpler than the OEM adjustment.It has been on my truck for a year and I have no issues with it.I am getting another one of these if I have a second bird attack.

These are really nice replacements. I bought a pair of them for my 97 4runner. At first I thought they wouldn't fit when I mistakenly ordeered the first one. After reading other comments I decided to try them. They fit my 97 4Runner limited perfectly. I also like the way they adjust, it is so much more efficient than my last ones. I really like that they are glass and not plastic. The design inside makes it look like a newer vehicle. I haven't tested them at night yet, but so far it looks like they will be a perfect upgrade to the originals.

These Depo assemblies are excellent quality replacement. I had ordered a set of TYC Assemblies and was beyond disappointed in them, paid to return them and ordered these in the meantime. It arrived quickly, in mint condition, and the quality is leagues better. I would highly recommend these for any replacement or retrofit project.

Fit ok, when adjusted the lenses do not line up with the grille but way better than I had.
