Excellent Canoe Seat
I really like this canoe seat! My friend and I have been using stadium seats that you would normally use on bleachers, but this seat has features that make it stand out.The frame is metal construction and the cushions are very comfortable. Its one-fold design makes it easy to deploy and put away. Other seats tend to have multiple folds and it feels like you have to fumble around until you get it right. Not so with this one. The portage lock is a really nice touch to keep it flat in transport as well. The back support is easily adjustable, as well as the clips underneath for the seat. You could even use this sitting at a picnic table or on the ground, making it great for a canoe camping trip. Its size is well though out, too. I'm 6ft and weigh 210 pounds, and the back rest comes up way higher than any other seat I have tried. That makes it really nice to paddle longer distances with a kayak or canoe paddle. This seat is easy to use, comfortable, and is well made. I would definitely recommend it.

Picked this seat to canoe 490 miles on the Yukon River and was not disappointed
Excellent and comfortable canoe seat for canoeing long distances. I’m 67 years old and have suffered some lower back issues so I knew I needed a good supplement canoe seat for our long river trip. The GCI Outdoor worked perfectly. I found it comfortable, it fit perfectly in a 17’ Prospecter canoe and was easily detach from canoe bench and used for other seating options. It appears to be well construction and after 490 miles on it, it looks like new. I originally planned on giving it to the outfitter after our trip but brought it home with me instead, Luv it!

Not perfect, but good enough!
I bought this seat cushion for use on a 3 day whitewater canoe trip, and when we all showed up for the bus ride half of us had this same seat in different colors. There doesn't seem to be a lot of competition in the cushioned canoe seat market, so if you are reading this, you are probably going to end up with this one.Overall it works well; it is lightweight, comfortable, and has a metal frame that has not bent despite the stress put on it during vigorous paddling and a couple flips. It has two beefy plastic clips that attach it to a standard canoe seat, with wide nylon straps to keep it in place. If anything those straps are overkill. They never loosened from the seat while I was using it. There is a mesh pocket on the back which is good for a koozie or maybe some paddling gloves if you are into that. The portage strap is nice if you are into carrying your boat, but who am I, Burt Reynolds? The main downside is the backrest strap. It is one piece that goes from the seat base, through the backrest rails, and around to the other side. You can tighten it with a single plastic buckle at one side which controls the recline of the seat. This is a nice feature, but in practice the buckle slooowly slips and I found myself constantly re-tightening to maximum uprightness before each section of fast water. It may be designed to do this instead of snap under the large amount of stress put on it, in which case this small inconvenience is better than a broken seat. For what it's worth, I tried it later on flatwater in the dry with no issues, so if that is your game you should be good to go.Overall, this is the best you're probably going to find anywhere close to this price. And it certainly worked better than the aluminum Cincinnati Bengals stadium seat my friend brought which really lived up to its name by immediately folding in half under stress.FOOTNOTE: If you plan on using this with an aluminum Grumman 17' Double Ender, it will not fit on the backseat, only the front. The back is too narrow for the hinges.

Outstanding! Still Holding Up!
This item here is probably the best thing I purchased outta the $500 I just spent on fishing gear, and I bought some NICE stuff! Although, how would you enjoy these things if you have a back issue? You need comfort my fellow fishin friends! And this is it! The price was all over the place and I feel I over paid, but I used this chair twice within 2 weeks. The second time we hit some pretty bad rapids, flipping the canoe and me needing first-aid and a ride back to camp, but! It held up to the Delaware River! I haven't seen any tears, rips or faulty stitching yet. I guess you would have to expect more/faster wear & tear when you hit the river hard. Lots of moving around, switching positions and banging it around, it still held up. The important thing is bracing my back. I keep finding myself hunched over with tying on hooks or dealing with lures. A long day on the river can strain your back and ruin your night. I felt support in the upright position and relaxed in the reclined position. The strap seemed to hold up well and the chair was well anchored to the canoe bench, the pads were cushiony and I made use of the pocket in the back. I just wish it came with those extension stapes. Still on a waiting list which I don't like. I'm sure the stitching will fail at some point, but if you're not against a little sewing I'd say to pick one of these chairs up. Just don't pay $50 or more for it unless the extension stapes come with it. All around usage & construction 5 stars across the board! 👍

Comfortable
I got a pair of these for my canoe. They are comfortable and work great. They are adjustable, so they fit well and hold secure.

Canoe seat
Bought as replacements for my factory Coleman canoe seats. Comfortable and better back support. Can be used as stadium seats also.

Great seat. Provided comfort on a 2-day river canoe trip
This is a great seat, well built and provided great comfort and much needed back support for 5-6 hours in the canoe. The seat installs quickly and securely, and It's pretty compact and light to pack or carry around. I purchased them as a pair and it is a great value.

GCI Outdoor SitBacker
The GCI Outdoor SitBacker is decent for short canoe trips, offering good back support and easy attachment, but the thin padding and limited adjustability make it less comfortable for long outings. It's a convenient option, but durability could be better.
