The Original, The Reliable, Still the Best
Twinings invented Earl Grey tea and, for me, it's still the best. I've had the curious experience of drinking a tea that was heavy on tannin and yet very low on actual tea flavour--that was awful. I've had the experience of drinking a black tea that had flavour but almost no detectable tannins--that was curiously bland and lacking. Twinings Earl Grey is right in the middle and hits the right balance, for me, of tea flavour and tannin. Not too much tannin and not too little. The black tea flavour is distinct, the bergamot is distinct but not overwhelming, the aroma is delightful. Tea bags can be convenient but I think loose tea brews a fuller bodied cup. Perhaps it is only because I can easily adjust the amount of tea I use to suit the size of my cup so that I don't have to let the tea brew too long to try to get more flavour out of one standard-sized tea bag. Or maybe it really is because the tea leaves like to be able to stretch out and swim around in the pot or mug! Whatever the reason, I'm glad to have the option of buying loose tea.

High quality, delicious.
My favorite tea. Extremely popular for a reason. My only complaint is the last two times it was delivered, the tin had been dented. Maybe handle or ship more carefully.

Doesn’t get any better
I’ve been drinking this in place of coffee for over 30 years. I try to always have this on hand but hard to find it in this large loose leaf tin. Makes great sun tea and ice tea.

Absolutely delicious
Absolutely delicious! Upon first opening the contents do look quite brown and l bought this tea mainly because of the blackcurrant, but it also contains hibiscus so the overall brown tone was a little concerning. It brews to a beautiful ruby red and is absolutely delicious. No one flavour is overpowering, l like lavender but don't want to be punched in the face by it and it's very subtle in this tea. The thing that most surprised me is that it tastes creamy. Highly recommended.

Earl Grey Tea, Loose Leaf, Pack of Six
I'm seeing that Amazon is grouping together the reviews for all Twinings teas, from Orange Pecoe to Earl Grey. This review pertains to the Earl Grey. Earl Grey: So perfect! Twinings has always done an excellent job with its Earl Grey, and this product is no exception. The black tea is strong and rich, and the bergamot is deep and flavorful. The fragrance is magnificent, and the taste is so beautiful that I find myself drinking large cups of this tea daily. I've heard bergamot compared to orange, but its nature is more lemon-like to me--and, somehow, I can't seem to get enough. In addition to the health properties of black tea, bergamot acts to decrease certain cholesterols in the body. The moral of the story: We need Earl Grey in our lives! Loose Leaf: Also exquisite. Twinings has this tea available in bags, but it is far stronger in loose-leaf form. The leaves are large and whole, and they never end up escaping my infuser accidentally. Then, too, the loose-leaf variety goes much, much farther than tea bags, making this an excellent value for comparable or greater strength. My one challenge with this tea is that it is not decaf, whereas Twinings Earl Grey is available in decaf bags. That isn't insurmountable so long as I drink it only throughout the morning hours. Tins: Nothing plasticine about them! I've always felt that plastic, cardboard, etc. are inauthentic. These tins really are rectangular metal structures with a small tea leaf embossed on the top. The foil covering beneath the lid keeps the tea fresh and preserves flavor nicely. Then, too, these tins are excellent storage places for other teas once the Earl Grey is gone. Pack of six: Translation: It's the tea that keeps on giving!--and, trust me, you'll want it that way. Buying in bulk like this is expensive up-front, but so important once you find a tea that you'd like to stick with. Final Recommendation: Make a cup, or two, or ten, of tea. Make many, many London fogs. Make Earl Grey macaroons--yes, they do exist! Whatever you do, you will be thoroughly pleased with this product.

Delicious and strong!
Very dark, delicious, strong tea. Just the way I like my tea! I love the tin, too. Makes it easy to open and store and scoop out the tea. Just wish it was bigger with more tea.

Twin Ing's! First time buying the Tin!! First few sips, the taste, is an experience, familiarity returning in the second half of That First Cup. With 3.5% Milk/Leche and granulated cane sugar (C&H here in California), the absolute minimum necessary for taste. Don't buy WAR RATION TEA BAGS buy the Tin. A cooking pot, enough scoops, 15 minutes low heat. Too much is poison, immunize yourself.
