If you want firm neck support this is great!
I often have serious neck pain issues. It seems like I've tried every type of pillow going, and none have really worked, until this pillow. I'm pretty sure that if you don't like firm pillows you won't like this, but if, like me, you like firm support this pillow is perfect. The size is compact, which I find very helpful as it is easy to squish into the positions where I need the most support. The buckwheat does make a subdued sound when moved, but I really find that rather pleasant. This great pillow has helped relieve my neck pain substantially.

Removal of buckwheat hulls permits customization - cool sleep
It's funny to read the reviews. It just proves it is impossible to please all people. I purchased the cylinder neck pillow after looking at many options. Organic cotton is important to me for pillowcases and sheets, so that was a box checked. I wanted USA made, so another box checked. This seemed a bit pricey but was cheaper than others. Also, I have spent so much money on pillows that have gone to family and been donated. I have been seeing a chiropractor for overall musculoskeletal health for many years, and most of my neck/shoulder issues seem to be pillow driven. I like the My Pillow for moldability and soft comfort, but I seem to sweat too much with that one. Not related to menopause yet. So my search needed to continue. I tried a buckwheat hull pillow many years ago, but I don't think I gave it a fair try, and it was a standard pillow shape, not a roll. My chiropractor had said that really all anyone needs is a neck roll to give full neck support, so I thought it was time to go that route. First night, I kept the full stuffing in, which was packed full. I woke up with a kink in my left neck and pain across my shoulders, and I new it was because it was too packed full for me. Essentially no moldability. The second night I removed appox. 4 cups of filling, and it seems perfect. I don't recall waking up at all to move, and I sleep left side or back 100% of time, and usually I'm aware of every move I make all night because of pain or sweating. So, having a full nights sleep without realizing I rolled over is a great thing, plus I didn't awake at any time sweaty. I think compared to a regular pillow this one will be great for travel. I will find out in a week when I throw it in my bag. I'm glad that I can customize with removal of the hulls, and if it collapses a bit, I can add them back. These hulls specifically are really nice quality, no smell, and no bugs that I saw (and hope I don't). The case the hulls are in is quality made thinker material and the zipper pull is covered. I did purchase the optional case made to fit this for $16. I'm glad I did. Very nicely made, heavier quality material that washed and hang to dry beautifully, so I will wash it with every sheet change so very frequently.

Great pillow
Theses are great! I don’t snore. They do not react with my skin. They do not get hot.

A little firm but you get used to it. No more neck and shoulder pain!
I was between the Buckwheat and Millet. The Buckwheat can be a little firm but I got used to it after a couple nights. I rotate between this and a cervical pillow throughout the week. So far it's helped my existing neck and should pain and I wake up with no additional pain. You can remove some of the buckwheat to adjust for you neck's sleeping height.

It's so comfortable: adjust the pillow to your perfect height with organic filling and pillow case!
I love it. For the size and the advantage that I can adjust the fullness with filling the buckwheat hulls to the perfect; it brings such a comfort that I start to travel with it on road trips. It's my second best buddy (besides my husband). And it's 100% organic!

Eliminated my neck pain!
I am extremely happy with this neck roll. I sleep on an adjustable bed with my back and head raised which helps with my sleep apnea and acid reflux. The problem I had with sleeping in this position was when I used a traditional pillow. The pillow pushed my head forward causing neck pain. To correct the problem with my neck pain from the traditional pillow, I increased the angle of the bed which eliminated the need for my traditional pillow. Eliminating the pillow entirely was a huge improvement but it still wasn’t perfect. I decided to try a few different neck rolls to support just my neck without pushing my head forward. After trying several types of neck rolls I found the best one for me. The Sachi Organic Buckwheat Neck Pillow. After adjusting the amount of fill in the neck roll, it provided me the neck support I wanted. Besides the fact that it doesn’t retain heat, it doesn’t push back against your neck. It simply supports it. What I mean by not pushing back is, memory foam and other type fills used in pillows work like a spring. When you apply pressure to them, they push back. With this neck roll, once you get the fill adjusted to your liking, it just provides support. Pleas keep in mind that you will need to make minor adjustments each time you lay down because the buckwheat will move around. Lastly, the neck roll is very well made. I hope this review helps others who suffer from neck pain!

Helped me sleep with cervical spine injury
I have two protruding discs in my cervical spine causing extreme nerve pain in my hand and this pillow helps me sleep when nothing else has. I was able to remove some of the hulls to make it the right height for me and when I wake in the night from the pain starting I can arrange the pillow just right to tip my head back and feel the pain ease away. I have tried propping myself up quite a few ways and bought a foam cervical pillow. This is so much better. I'm not up 3-4 times a night doing housework because of this pillow. It's not cushy or luxurious feeling, but sleep is luxury.

Was good for a moment
I've been looking for a very firm neck pillow to help alleviate pain from my neck and shoulders. I came across this brand and thought I'd try it based on the reviews and description of the product. I've had this pillow for a couple months now and enjoyed it the first few weeks of having it. The pillow was very hard and more firm than I expected, which I loved! I needed the support and for my neck to be in a comfortable position to prevent pain and spasms. After several nights of using the pillow, it started to lose its firmness. I fluffed the pillow as directed from the instructions received with the pillow. It helped for a moment, but started to go flat. It was no longer supporting my neck and my head was starting to slide down the pillow. I'm a back and side sleeper, so either position, my neck was no longer being supported and my neck pain got worse and then I started to develop a new pain from using the pillow. I've also realized the width of the pillow is too big for my neck, and the length of the pillow is too short to transition from sleeping on my back to my neck and vice versa. I don't use the pillow every night any more, but use it sparingly. I just use a few different types of pillows (varying in sizes and support) to help with my neck when I sleep at night, which has been helping so far.
