Couldn't Plant for a Week
Purchased 04-14-17. Received in less than a week, and they were very nicely packed. I personally raise hybrid tea roses, and ship in anywhere between 12-26 rose bushes a year, so I am very familiar with packed, and shipped plants, keeping roots moist, protecting the plant as a whole ect. The sellers didn't do anything radical, it was just right. The plants were all lined up, roots were damp, plastic bag wrapped so they didn't either dry out, nor begin to rot. Such a simple thing, & yet you wouldn't believe how many shoppers can get that wrong.*** They arrived early. Days early, but then Springtime is busy garden/ shipping time. We couldn't get them in the ground right away - we hadn't even tilled yet! Lol! We had expected to delay planting a couple of days, but because they came so fast it was a full 8 days before we could get them in the ground.***Unfortunately the seller does not include directions of any kind. BUT our experience didn't require it, SO we'll share some with you- if you get them, & can not immediately plant:First look at how they are packed, take picture for reference purposes if you are nervous. Then pull them out of the box, & give a good soak (cover all roots) for 12-24 hours. *We put the whole bag - roots & plastic in a 5 gallon bucket, & filled bag with water until roots were covered plus a couple inches In case bag leaked, & water level dropped.Drain out water, not dry out bag, just pour the water off, wrap as they came back into the box they go. (You might have a picture)Put a towel down in a cool, dark place (closet maybe?) *Towel is a must in case for our floors.Every 2 days pull them out, and give a brief 5 minute dunk in cool water (not I've cold, but not earning either). The first dunk was a long one because you were giving them their first drink since before shipping, and those boxes can get very hot.*remember not to suffocate plants, but don't leave them wide open to evaporation.*If this is your first time - it's okay to peek, and check to make sure they aren't laying in a big puddle, or getting dried out. The more you order bare root plants the more familiar you will get with the process. Now we held ours for 8 days which is kind of long for a green, green already out of winter hibernation plant - should have been 3 days max!About 75% of them now have 4-9 sprouts, I think one might even be a foot long! It's crazy! No way should they be doing this well! It's an awesome survival rate!!Yes, a lot can be chalked up to our experience, our garden skills, & our soil, BUT they had to be good (viable) to start with!We did add some peatmoss, perlite, compost, & some "Black Gold" I mix here for our plants. Once I am pretty sure all that are going to break the surface have I will be adding a loose layer of straw (not hay, hay has seeds)to keep the ground a little cool, help maintain moisture, & it helps with wedding chores, & just IN CASE there's a late bloomer, or 2. We're just coming out of hibernation with the roses, so still early ground temps yet. Once I am sure they are all done gonna do a granular feeding along with some eggshells, perlite, peatmoss, & a little more sprinkled compost, all covered in mulch.I will be doing it this way because I will be building up those beds over the years, and it is what my soil needs.***IF you are new to this every state has a State Extention Office. They are connected to the USDA plus major college(s) in your area. They are there for you too, not just 4-H, or big farmers. Nope. They are a wealth of information specific to your area, AND most will do soil testing for a small fee. Check in some states/areas the extension office people will even come out have a look around, & answer questions for you. - They do get busy certain times of the year, but if you get to know them, & work with them - it's better than having a farmer in your back pocket! (Whole family of farmers here) So much free advice, information, & stuff - your tax (state, & federal) dollars funds it - use it! (:**"We DO recommend this seller, we will be back for more crop plants! Thank you for the great crowns!******Anywho hope we were helpful***Happy Planting!

Very happy with these
I'm impressed with these. We didn't get around to planting them as soon as we wanted and then we had some unseasonable heat right after. Nearly all of our roots have come up now with a good portion of them looking pretty exceptional for how young they are.

Most of them came up right away!
The roots came in great condition and ready to plant. I ordered the roots just a tad bit early because our weather turned bad and I had to wait a week. I kept the roots moist, and even then, I lost a few. No big deal, though because I really don't have room for 50 new plants. So far, 41 plants have grown and they look wonderful. I am looking forward to next year, and plan to possibly harvest a few. My bed is 4 ft X 12 ft, so I plan to have a good amount to eat each year. Very pleased so far.

Looking forward to a small first crop next year.
Arrived when expected. The roots were well packaged and protected. All roots grew when planted and look very healthy. We had some asparagus shoots this first year. Looking forward to a small first crop next year.**update Summer 2017We had about three weeks of harvest this year. Enough each week for two meals a week for 4 people without stressing the plants at all. And it was TASTY - So much better then what is purchased in the local grocery. Looking forward to next year.We will purchase from this seller again if we need crop plants.

Good value, great roots.
Arrived as promised, soaked roots for about an hour in some rainwater I had collected to give them a boost, then planted them as described in the information packet that came with my root order. Waited (not very long) and now I have an amazing asparagus patch in my back yard. Still the first year, but they are thriving and doing very well. Will order again, if I need to, but I suspect these roots will be growing for years to come. Price was much lower then any of my local big box stores and compared to my "local" nursery (Which gets most of its plants from Bonnie) the value was exceptional, and the roots in great shape.

Most of the crowns successfully sent up shoots, but unfortunately about 25% of the crowns ended up being female plants. The female plants produce lots of small berries full of seeds, which if not removed use energy and reduce yield.

Order received within a couple of days. I planted the roots and they started coming up within 2-3 days and by end of the week were all up and growing. I couldn't resist eating one stalk even though you should wait a year it was very sweet and made it hard not to go back for more. Outstanding service and they did a follow up to be sure I got product and was happy. What more could you ask for

Veteran Owned Supplier. Great quality. Crowns very productive. Will buy again.
I bought 50 of these crowns for my permaculture garden. They came with a few spots of blue mold, but it did not appear to be endemic and did not hurt the ability for the plants to thrive. They have been growing for three weeks and many of the initial stalks are already 12+ inches. I am very happy with this purchase and this supplier.
