Knee Brace (Xsmall left (5.5-6.5")

I wish there were more sizes.
My dog is a little too big for the small and a little too small for the medium, ugh. We kept the small, and shaved his leg so it would fit a bit better. More sizes would be great. The other trouble was that they were out of stock on the Left Rear Leg brace for a long time. Once I got it, it didn't seem like there was anything super one-sided on it, leading me to wonder if I could have used the Right Rear Leg brace in it's absence. I still can't quite tell if you could, but boy- would an either-side brace be great. That said, this brace did seem to help him as he waited with his torn CCL for the resultant TPLO surgery. It seemed to stabilize his knee enough so that he could put a bit of pressure on it, which took a bit of pressure off of his other hind leg, helping it stay healthy. However, it being a bit small for him meant that whenever he sat or squatted, the brace would quickly slide down his leg to his ankle, no matter how tightly it was attached over his back. That wasn't great, but we would readjust as soon as he changed position, or we'd take it off for a while. It also meant that the brace developed a deep wrinkle/crease from him sitting with it around his ankle when we didn't catch it quickly enough, making it even easier for it to slip down the next time. >_<Speaking of design, the strapping that goes over the back and behind the dog's private parts is genius. It really stayed on well when he was walking. I will say that our guy has a supportive rump and tail (Not-So-Mini-Schnauzer), so if your dog has a sloped back end it may not work as well for you. I looked at it initially and thought "no way", but it did the job beautifully. So while I'm grateful for this brace, there are things they could tweak that would make it even better! More sizes, and better availability, and an ambidextrous one, for example!

sizing chart is inaccurate
Based on 1/2 above knee was correct for that spot but the xxxs wouldnt fit over the thigh. I ended up ordering the xs based on thigh size and its so big around the rest of the leg that it doesnt support anything. The xxxs was returned for full refund. I paid extra to get the xs here quickly and now I have to return it.Now I get to PAY $7.01 fee to return this one that still doesnt fit, in addition to the $3.99 I paid to get it here. This sizing chart is garbage.

Purchased for ACL injury
Got this for my 95 lbs pitbull who has re injured his acl. i purchased it in a large as per his measurements but when it arrived i noticed straight out of the package it was too big. i returned it without any problems and re-purchased the med/large. hopefull this new one will be tight enough to support his knee.

Support
In 2018 my Pitbull turns her acl running. At that time I bought the walkabout knee brace for her left leg. Love the support the brace gave her and helps her heal more quickly. Now 2021, she is having the same problem but in her right leg. So I just bought the brace for her right leg as well. It brings support while walking outside for 10 minutes because for now she can’t walk more than that. Thank you Walkabout for doing this for our dogs.Highly recommended

Couldnt find a fit
I first bought this in a medium-large, which I was sure was the right size, but it was huge. there was loose fabric just flapping around her leg. So I returned it and ordered a medium, which was so small I couldnt get it to cover her knee, it wouldnt pull up high enough. I double-checked the label and this is a medium, but I did not actually double-check the med-large to make sure it wasnt a large.I dont see an option to return this one, so I might try cutting the cuff so I might be able to pull it up higher. For now she isnt supposed to be walking much anyways.

Double Check the measurements
I ordered one of these for my dog, he has a torn ACL in his right hind leg. When I got it I was very impressed with the quality of the brace and how simple it would be to put on. The problem I had was that I mistakenly ordered the wrong size. Going back over things I realized that I should have ordered an XS, but ordered a M instead. Looking at the information for doing the measurements, I did it wrong. I have returned it and will order an XS once the funds have cleared. Double check your measurements to make sure you're getting the right size.

It's an option
So, the material is soft and thankfully it was easy to clean after he got wet with it on. I have 2 issues with this particular brace. #1, he got out of it somehow. #2, the strap was rubbing across the lower portion of his "unit" and causing irritation. Also, he did appear to be cramping up after having it on for a while. I guess this all could possibly due to user error, however, I followed the directions included with the brace, so I doubt it. It is a less expensive option if you are in a pinch.

Good idea, not effective.
The brace needs to be made specifically for the dog. The dogs exact measurements need to be used. It just didn't give the support needed, and was more irritating than good. Plus, you need to attach it to the harness in order that it doesn't slip down around the dogs legs. It's a good idea, but needs to be made for dogs specific measurments.
